Chapter 20

"Ok, let's do this," Eros said, determined. The Olympians stood in a circle, Eros in the middle. He too, took some power, but not as much. He put his hands out, and each of the gods struck a bar of power at him. It formed a circle around him and surrounded the ground underneath him, as he suddenly ascended speedily into the air- far above the prison he was in. He was free. But he then felt like he was flying, and he was! He had taken the form of a bird! But not just any bird, a blue hawk. In fact, he knew this bird, its feathers were ones he had seen before, it was Skiffin's body.

He saw the Roman army; they were charging at Athens. The emergency bells had already gone off and the Athenian army was ready, but their armies were much smaller than that of the Romans'. Eros pointed his feathers at the Roman army and lightning bolts came from them, aiming at the Romans. He tried not to kill any of them, instead he destroyed a lot of the shields and the weapons, as well as the armour. He was also invisible to the Romans (but not to the Athenians), so they just thought it was some sort of storm, in hopes they would not throw any of their weapons at him or injure him in any way- he was in the form of a bird after all. When he was sure enough of their equipment had been destroyed, he formed a massive rock wall that separated the Romans and the Athenians. He had done his work for this battle, now it was time for his proper battle with the Primordial Eros. He flew into the Primordial world, and as soon as he got there, changed into his normal form of a human, and the evil one was quite surprised to see him.

"Oh, don't you ever give up?" he asked.

"Never," he replied, as he hauled a ball of his power at him. Eros' power had regenerated whilst he was flying above the Athenian battle, and he put his hand out as his staff came back from the world below into his hands. The Primordial Eros was also ready, as he pulled out two black machetes and changed into the form of the kidnapper to intimidate him, but Eros was more than prepared. He was fighting for all he loved, his 'mother', the Olympians, Olympus itself, but most importantly for Greece.

Meanwhile, the gods were still trapped, and Aphrodite was still dead. Their power was going by the minute and when the time would come when they had no power left, they surely would die as their mortal bodies were not strong enough. They had put their lives into Eros' hands.

The Athenians knew that they were blessed by the gods- they would not let any of their creation die at the Romans' hands. The wall was incredibly strong and towered much above Athens, some thought it even touched Olympus. They were sure that the blue bird was a god, but it could not reveal its true self as if any god revealed their true self to the mortals, they would burn to death. However, the Romans' weapons were advanced and strong- the wall was getting weaker by the minute from the force the Roman weapons were putting onto it.

Eros, still in the Primordial world, kept hauling his power at his foe. He felt strong and honoured. Whenever the Primordial Eros sent his power at him, he always dodged it. They were battling for quite a long time when the Primordial Eros wasn't having this anymore, and wanted to win, more than ever before. He had gone to so much trouble to get what he wanted, and he would not let this puny god stop him.

Furious, he chased his creation to the very ends of the boat and with intelligence hauled his machetes right at his body. Nevertheless, Eros was much quicker and jumped high into the air as he kicked the machetes into the ground. He descended rapidly, staff in his hand with the machetes in his sight and plunged them deep into the boat so that his enemy wouldn't be able to get them. He flew to the opposite side, and the Primordial Eros now had the machetes in his sight but couldn't get them. Finally, Eros, with all his strength, plunged his power into the boat beneath him, which was so strong, not only did it drain the Primordial Eros of his power, but he fell. The machetes split into pieces and all plunged themselves into his body. Eros had won this battle.
