The Beauty, The Brains, & The Beasts

     This is my first story ever! (published that is) And I really hope you guys like it! It is purely fiction and does contain some elements of my life, I admit that. Dun't make rude comments please!

                                                                                  Prologue

     Once upon a time, there was a family who lived in Apartment B615 5th Avenue in New York, New York. The family consisted of a father, a mother, and a girl. You’d think this was a typical, normal family of most Americans. This family was far from normal. The daughter’s father had been classified as mentally insane after claiming to “see dead people” and put into a mental institute. The girl’s mother worked most of the time; and when she was home, she insulted the girl and sometimes completely ignored her. The girl’s mother was also a wicken, or part witch, and no one knew but the mother herself. The girl considered herself a geek. She was a 15 year old girl who enjoyed video games, history, reading and such. The girl didn’t think her father was insane; mostly because she could see the spirits too. The girl had a few close friends but would’ve rather been a loner. No one really believed her when she told them about how horrid her mother was or when she told them about the spirits drifting around. They just thought she was spoiled and insane.

        One day her friends introduced her to a guy from the nearby city of Manhattan. They found out how much they had in common. The girl was totally astounded at how much. Everything they asked each other and answered was what the other would’ve said. The girl desperately wanted to meet the guy. She wished they could, as she hoped he could save her from her horrible mother.

        The guy wanted to meet the girl also. He thought she could bring him back down to earth and out of all the pain he had caused others. From the pictures they had sent to each other, he didn’t think he had ever met someone more beautiful in the world. Once he learned that they were so alike, he knew she was the one for him. She was beautiful inside and out.

        The girl’s mother had noticed how her daughter had been acting out of the ordinary. She checked her daughter’s private messages with the guy and saw why. Her daughter and the guy had fallen in love with each other. They were planning to run away together, leaving everything behind. The evil mother, acting as her daughter, sent a message to the guy telling him never to make any contact with her again, that something had come up and she had decided not to go with him. She then took her daughter’s phone and threw it out the window into the street. She stormed into her daughter’s room where the girl had been studying. The girl saw how angry her mother was and figured she had seen the messages. She tried desperately to convince her mother she was joking, but her mother wouldn’t have it. The mother told her she was grounded until further notice and would be homeschooled from here on out until she graduated.

        That night, her mother cast a small memory loss spell on the girl’s dinner before bringing it up to her. The instant the girl started to eat, she passed out. Perfect, her mother thought to herself as she slipped out of the room. Now the girl wouldn’t remember anything…

The guy, on the other hand, was completely devastated and torn apart. She never wanted to talk to him again? Why was she doing this to him after he had opened up to her? He cried to himself at night, wondering how he would live on without her.

PS: yes the song to le right is by Ne-yo. I thought this song would go well with this because well, the girl doesn't really trust anyone but the guy and they guy wants to help her learn to lover herself and others.                                                                  ~lotusssss
