Chapter 1

"Happy birthday Sebastian", Barbara greeted as she handed me a small paperbag. "Sorry I couldn't spend the day with you, there are important errands I have to finish today no matter what." She said looking really apologetic. "It's fine, take care and good luck with your matters, thanks for the gift." I said nonchantly. "You're welcome, by the way here's your monthly allowance, please take care always and be a good boy Sebastian." She said as she handed me a white envelope then gave me a warm smile before she left.

Today's my 16th birthday and I really couldn't care less if it was celebrated or not, I didn't really find any special reason as to why superficial celebrations such as birthdays have to be celebrated. In my 16 years of existence I was always alone for all I care so it didn't really bother me, it's just a normal day where my age is the only thing that changed.

I decided to open the gift Barbara gave. Inside the paperbag was a small box and a letter that said,

"I hope this will answer everything you need to know, happy 16th birthday Sebastian"

Answer? Answer to what? Weird words for a greeting, I thought, but I quickly set it aside and decided to open the small box, there it contained a necklace with a small Opal orb pendant. Again weird, this is a weird gift for a boy. Usually Barbara gives me practical items that I could use at home but this time it's a very unusual gift, still I decided to keep it and put it in my pocket. Today is a Sunday so I took the liberty of going out to eat at my favorite restaurant by the mall, I usually go for convenience store food but since today is my birthday I'll make an exemption, I did just receive my monthly allowance.

As I was walking out of the apartment vicinity, I felt uneasy as if someone was watching me, I pay no heed to it and continued to walk along the streets, but the uneasiness continued to grow so I decided to look around and not far from me I saw a man standing firmly and was sternly looking at my direction. 'Creepy, is he gay? Shit, is this sexual assault?' Was what I thought, so I hurriedly walked away until I lost sight of the strange man. I still can't shake the uneasiness I was feeling, however when I got to the restaurant I was a bit relieved, there were lots of people around since it is inside the mall so it felt more safer.

I took my lunch and when I was satisfied I decided walk around for a bit and do some grocery shopping as well to pass the time, since I was still feeling a bit worried about the creepy man I saw earlier.

It was already dark outside when I left the mall and as I was nearing my apartment when the uneasiness suddenly returned so I scanned the place and there not far behind me, I saw the man from earlier. He was now glaring at me and was rapidly walking towards my direction so I panicked and dropped my grocery to run away but the ground suddenly started to shake which caused me to stumble.

"You are coming with me." The man said pointing towards me, the ground stopped shaking and there I saw an ominous aura behind the man, then suddenly everything went black.
