"ROMEO?"I asked shocked and in all honesty I was hoping my eyes were fucking with me but when I blinked just to see him still standing there I knew they weren't. It was like the room stopped by his presence and it didn't stop in good way. It stopped in the way that you freeze as you feel your stomach drop.

"It's me."he smiled moving toward me but I backed up making him frown hard," You didn't miss me?"when be asked and I blinked at him not saying anything. I should've known it was him, the smell. His cologne that filled the bodega like it always used to fill every room.

But it was stronger since he was standing in front of me.

He tried to touch my face but I quickly moved fast and he slowly frowned at me,"Why you acting like that?"he asked.

" Why are you here?"I asked but it came out as more of a blurt.

"I missed you and when i heard you were here."he grabbed my hand,"I had to see you."

I quickly snatched away,"Don't fucking touch me."It came out low like a growl," You don't get to do that!"when I yelled my voice started to crack by how high it got.

" Monse I'm sorry."He said softly,"But you hurt me too, you told your dad about me".

"After you hurt me."I said and when I did he tried touching my face again but I slapped his hand,"Don't."I hissed and this time he jumped back. I turned shoving the money to him fast, snatching my stuff before I rushed to the door.

I could feel the cashier and Romeo watching me as I left out. When I ran outside I frowned when I didn't see my brothers car outside anymore and I looked around to see if I could see it anywhere around here.

But when I didn't, It felt like I couldn't breathe until out the corner of my eye I seen Odalie sitting in her car outside. It looked like she was occupied and I glanced behind me to see Romeo on his way out the store.

Without giving it a second thought I ran to her car and as soon as I got to the passenger side her gaze moved up and she smiled at me but it faded when she saw my face. When her eyes moved behind me she frowned unlocked the door, I got in her car quickly closing the door behind me.

"Is everything o-"

"Drive!"I cut her off before she could finish her sentence and she didn't waste any time before she pulled off.

"DO YOU THINK HAVING THE MUNCHIES IS JUST AN EXCUSE TO BE FAT?"Reina asked from where she was on my bed. I turned away from my dresser and looked at her as she shoved popcorn in her mouth. I cut my eye setting my phone down on top of the dresser.

"No because that's the point of having them."I shook my head at her and she shrugged.

"If you say so, have you talked to SeSe? I tried calling her but she didn't answer."

"She's probably busy."I shrugged this time,"Besides you call her everyday. Maybe she's tired of you."

Reina rolled her eyes standing up from the bed grabbing her bowl giving me an annoyed look,"Yeah okay."

I heard soft knocks on my bedroom door and I frowned at it since Oscar never knocks,"It's open."I said in an annoyed tone. The door opened and when I saw it was Monse my annoyance went completely away.

I smiled at her but my smile faded when I saw she looked upset.

"Is everything good?"Reina asked walking up with a concerned look on her face, and Monse shook her head but didn't say anything. She just looked at me and her eyes started to water,"Can we talk please."

I nodded and looked at Reina who looked between us, we exchanged a glance and she cleared her throat,"I'm gonna go get you something."she smiled at Monse but it was obvious her feelings were hurt.

When she left out and closed the door behind her, I decided to speak. "Whats going on? Is everything okay?"I asked grabbing her hand bringing her to sit on my bed. Her head shook and I cocked my head at her,"Talk to me."

"Can I stay here tonight please? I know you were gonna come back but I don't want to go home. I can't stay at home, don't make me stay at home please."

I nodded pulling her into a hug,"You know you don't even have to ask that."I pulled out after a while and held onto her face,"But I need you to tell me what's wrong."

"He's back."was all she said.

"Who?"I asked frowning at her loosening my grip on her.

"My ex."
