Albus sat to Scorpius' right and Draco's left; he was sure they could both hear his heart beating. He allowed one of the house elves to pour tea into a cup for him, and another placed a couple of biscuits on his small, white china plate. An awkward silence had fallen over the table. Finally, Astoria broke it:

"Are you going to introduce us to your friend, Scorpius?" she asked. "It's rude not to at least give us his name."

Oh no, Albus thought. This is it.

Having no idea what Scorpius would say, he just smiled awkwardly and looked to his left at his boyfriend. Scorpius grinned at the gathered group.

"This is Albus Potter", he said. Albus was proud to hear that Scorp's voice didn't shake. "Al, these are my parents, Draco and Astoria Malfoy."

Albus didn't miss the look of surprise on Draco's face, as his eyebrows shot up. "Potter?" He asked in a tone of disbelief.

"Harry Potter's son," Scorpius clarified. "Yes. And my boyfriend." He reaches over and slipped his fingers into Albus' hand, holding it tightly and maintaining a wide smile.

The silence that fell over the table was palpable. In one of the trees, a swallow chirped a song totally inappropriate for the tense moment.

"Yes, we would have told you sooner," Albus said nervously, "but there never seemed to be a good time..."

"Well", Astoria said, lifting her teacup delicately, "it's too bad we couldn't meet him sooner."

Albus actually sighed at her words and smiled broadly. "It's truly an honor, Mrs. Malfoy," he said.

"Draco? Is there any input you would like to give?" Astoria asked her husband with a bit of warning in her voice.
