The Manstress [EdwardxJacob]

Hello Stranger 😉😉

The first time, it happens quite by accident. Edward's had too much to drink, the whiskey simmering in the pit of his stomach.

The bar is busy for a Thursday night, the low hum of conversation sounding too loud in his ears. In the dim light of the bar, Edward can make out groups of people sitting clustered at tables scattered throughout the room, laughing as they play cards and share anecdotes. On the other side of the room, a man sits alone in a booth.

Edward doesn't know him, hasn't ever seen him here before. He's tall, with broad shoulders and he's wearing a leather jacket. His elbows rest on the table, long hair obscuring his face. A glass half full of a honey coloured alcohol is cradled between his palms. Edward tilts his head, eyeing the man's long legs and sharp jawline. As though sensing his gaze, the stranger lifts his head.

Edward meets his eyes across the bar, and it doesn't seem like a bad idea. Not then.

The stranger's eyes are dark, his long hair black and gleaming. There's something there that draws him in, a hook in his belly. When the stranger's lips tick up into a smirk, it's like he can feel the tug.

Edward's walking across the room before he can even think about it, reeled in by this man he doesn't know.

He doesn't think about Bella.

He doesn't think about anything.

For the first time in a long time, he feels free. Weightless.

"Hey," the stranger says when Edward comes to a stop in front of him. His voice is low and smooth like velvet.

"Hi," Edward says, and swallows hard. His head is spinning. The man is even more attractive from up close.

"Can I buy you a drink?" The stranger asks.

Edward doesn't even think about it.

"Yes."
