"Hey, you're pretty good at the guitar. You in a band?"

     "I wish," he laughed.

"You want to join a band?"

"Duh! All I've wanted to do is that."

"Let's make it a band. Here's my place," she handed him the address, "be there at 4?"

     "Oh. Alright!"

"Oh, uh... What's your name?"

"Trent. You?"

"Cheri. Look, my dad wants me home soon, I'll see you then though."

"... What a nice girl..."

~~

"Hello, Cheri. What would you like?" Josh welcomed her into the room.

"Oh, uh... Just a black coffee," Cheri yawned out. She usually wasn't up this early, but the light woke her up. Something that the old apartment never offered. Then, she saw him. After a morning swim or run, she didn't care. He was shirtless.

"Hey! Cheri, right? How's it going?" He smiled brighter than the sun.

"Good!" Cheri was proud she didn't stutter.

"Put on a shirt Miguel. I doubt anyone wants to see that, let alone this early." Nolan turned a page of the newspaper with eye roll.

"I do..." Cheri thought. To her luck, he didn't put one on. Josh placed the coffee in front of her with a smile. She gladly took it and chugged it down, earning a laugh from Miguel.

"What?" Cheri placed the cup in front of her.

"You took that like a shot," he managed to laugh out.

"Oh, just wait till you see me drunk," she playfully punched his shoulder.

"I finally touched him!" She internally squealed.

"Trust me, you do NOT want to see her drunk." Mason walked in with a water bottle in his hand.

     "Why not?"

"She's a hot mess," Trent playfully rolled his eyes while walking next to Mason.

"That'd be fun to see," Miguel glanced over to her with a chuckle. Cheri's heart swooned at that. Maybe she could act drunk and kiss him... No, that'd be weird.

"I wish I was dating him... Wait that's creepy! Like a stalker fangirl..." Cheri's thoughts wandered into summertime sadness as she remembered that he'd never like some weird fangirl. Especially one who thinks about how warm his hand is if they held hands or how strong he is.

"Cheri, you look like you're gonna cry," Trent took her hand to try and help her. She shrugged him off though, acting like she'd never kiss the love of her life. Well that may not be so much acting...

"So you're the new girl," a loud voice from behind said. "Sorry I couldn't make the party, I had work," she turned around and saw a blue haired man in a cop uniform holding a coffee cup. They introduced each other and Cheri went to shake his hand when she stumbled a little. He tried to catch her but spilled his coffee on her instead.

"I'm so sorry! Just my luck," he tried to wipe off Cheri's coffee stain. "Meet the cute new girl and spill coffee on her..." He groaned a little.

"He thinks I'm cute!" Cheri thought with a smile. "Well I guess if on the off chance Miguel doesn't want to marry his weird stalker fangirl, aka me, then this dude is pretty hot. Maybe not Olympic swimmer hot but..."

"I better go change shirts," Cheri left with a little wave, upset she couldn't talk to Miguel more, but she didn't want to talk to him with a coffee stain. On her way, she ran into Carter.

"You have coffee on your shirt," he said, eyeing her up and down.

"Yeah, it got spilled..."

"How do you spill that much of your own coffee?"

"Uh... I fell and Dean tried to help me but spilled his coffee..."

"So you didn't spill it. It is by someone else?"

"Uh, yeah..." Cheri was getting annoyed by his questions.

"Hm, let me help you get it off."

"Oh, that's okay I'm just gonna change shirts," she was getting pulled along by the arm. She didn't know he was strong enough to do that...

"Nonsense, I can get it off. It'd be a shame not to wear that shirt."

"What does that mean..." Cheri thought. She couldn't really think anymore from that as they reached his room. He told her to wait while getting the supplies. She just stood there in awkwardness.

"Here, sit down," he guided her down and started to scrub it off. It was kinda awkward, considering she couldn't do anything as he rubbed her chest. Once he finished she thanked him and started to leave when he called out,

"Be more careful please."

She nodded and kept going till she reached her room. Then, she sighed, already worn out by the early morning. She pulled out an old notebook and began:

"Dear diary, boys are really cute."

~~

"There is a dance coming up with a suggestion of a plus one. Would you like to come?" He talked in front of the mirror

"No, she won't say yes. Say it more directly."

~~

"So, coffee? God no... What if I spill it? On her again, oh God that'd suck..."

"Maybe just... Be yourself?"
