"Ow... Oh! Im sorry!"

"Yeah, just watch out next time," he twirled his drum sticks a bit after rolling his eyes.

"Wait, are you a drummer?"

"Yeah, did the sticks give it away."

"Listen, I'm in a band. Do you want to join?"

"Who else is in?"

"Just me and this dude, Trent."

"Where is he?"

"Uh... Somewhere around here..."

"Sorry, the line for Starbucks is like super long."

"Oh, hey Trent! Meet our new band member!"

"Wait I didn't agree-"

     "Welcome to the team!"

~~

"Cheri... you gotta wake up it's noon," Trent tried to roll her off her bed but she clung to it tightly.  "Come on, you have to move."

"Just gimme a few more minutes." She muttered and looked to the clock. "You should've told me it was this late!" She scrambled to get out and dressed properly.

"Ohh, he's gonna be disappointed if I'm late..." she said, looking for anything somewhat proper. She searched through her closest quickly while panicking.

"Hey Trent- Cheri? Are you in a rush?" Mason walked in the room and stared at his band mate and friend. Cheri nodded while putting on better clothes and shoes.

     "Yes, I have lessons with-"

"Lessons? I thought vocal lessons were Monday and Thursday?" Trent added after cutting her off.

"No, they're like proper lessons. On how to be like, fancy."

"Why do you need that?" They both asked as she quickly combed out her hair and added makeup.

"For a dat- a dance with someone." She quickly corrected herself as she finished getting ready.

"With who?" Mason started to pick up her thrown clothes and fold them.

     "..."

     "Cheri? With who?" Trent asked.

"Uh... um... Ca-" there was a sudden knock at the door that saved Cheri from answering.

     "Come in."

"I just wanted to make sure you were alright since you were late." Carter walked in and eyed the scene that took place. Mason holding Cheri's clothes while other outfits littered the floor lightly.

"You're kidding," Mason muttered, looking from Cheri back to Carter.

Whether or not Carter heard him, he chose to ignore it and took Cheri to his room. The etiquette lessons were... strict. Honestly she never thought they could be that hard until she did it.

"Do you think I'll be ready by Friday?" She asked, putting their long lessons to a close.

Carter sighed, "if you work hard every day you might be. But if you simply forget everything I've taught you for the day, most likely no." Cheri tightened her jaw, clearly upset. She really just didn't want to be a laughing stock of the party.

Although she wanted to hear some positive affirmations such as "I'm sure you'll do fine," from Carter, it seems she was not going to get that. She nodded and walked off after thanking him.

"Hey Cheri, how'd those lessons go?" Trent teased, turning away from Dean, Mason, and Miguel. Cheri laughed it off and told them all what happened.

"That sounds boring," Trent laughed and went back to talking to Mason, Dean, and Miguel. While she walked away she could still hear some of their conversation.

     "Lessons?" Dean asked.

"For being proper. She's going to a dance with Carter."  Mason explained.

"Why did Carter ask her," Miguel asked, leaning in as Cheri walked away to her room.

"He probably likes her," Trent shrugged, not knowing why himself.

"Do you think she likes him?" Miguel looked to the hallway to see if Cheri was still there.

"I dunno, why- ohhhh." Trent smirked at Miguel. Miguel started to blush and tried to wave it off.

"No no, I was just wondering-"

"Miguel and Cheri sittin' in a tree," Trent continued to tease him while Mason laughed. Dean sat there in the middle, not knowing whether or not to tease Miguel or to get jealous of him.

"I can't blame him, Cheri's cute." Dean defended Miguel, now centering the attention on him. All eyes turned towards him now.

"Mm. You think so?" Mason asked him, the tension building more by the second.

"Yea, don't you?" Dean tried to play it off, now realizing it was a mistake to say.

     "..."

     "..."

"Just us? Okay," Dean tried to get off the topic while Mason and Trent stared at them blankly.

"I mean, don't go around telling Cheri what I said," said Miguel, trying to cover his face slightly.

"No no, we won't. Right Trent?" Mason looked at his friend for reassurance.

"Yea, we won't tell her." He side eyed Mason, trying to see if it's a lie or not. "Well... we better get going, Cheri probably wants to work on a new song."

"Yeah, it's best to not keep her waiting when it comes to practice." Mason got up and waved goodbye before going to their room with Trent nearby.

"Hey guys, I got part of the song chorus down," Cheri waved them over and showed them part of it.

"Ooo, and the guitar part there could go like," Trent started making guitar noises for it while Mason and Cheri laughed.
