KRIST'S HOUSE.

First impressions were always super fucking terrifying. One single mistake and it could fuck your whole image up, and Dave had to figure that out the hard way.

Dave was luckily not as judgmental as Kurt had expected him to be, and he was glad. The youngest of the trio had always appeared more jock-ish to the frontman, and when they finally managed to start up a conversation, he was very relieved to find out that Dave was really not what he seems.

The two had managed to bond quite a bit as the time passed in Krist's so-called 'humble abode.' Kurt had learnt that Dave shared the same views as him when it came to politics and general views on society, which was amazing; it was rare to find somebody as interesting and as talented as Dave, Kurt felt like he had hit the jackpot or something.

"So, what're your views on same sex marriage?" Kurt asked calmly, taking another sip of his disgusting room temperature beer.

Dave's eyebrows shot up, making him seem a little surprised. "Oh?" He glanced away. "I don't really have an opinion on that kinda stuff, y'know," he trailed off, fiddling a little with his red solo cup with one hand, letting the other brush a single strand of dark brown hair behind his ear as he spoke once again; "I think love is love, and as long as it's not something like pedophilia or whatever, it should be allowed and normalized."

Kurt was quite suspicious now; why'd Dave seem so on the edge all of a sudden? Was he—- no way.

"Yeah, I understand," Kurt chuckled, trying to get Dave to relax with a warm tone to his voice. "I'm glad that you're not some macho homophobe. You're really easy to talk to, Dave, I like that."

Dave's shoulders raised in defense as his eyes all of a sudden averted to Kurt, who seemed even more surprised. "I— do I look like one?" The drummer questioned uneasily, eyes slightly bigger in fear. A macho homophobe was the last thing he wanted to be. Perhaps Kurt worded that sentence wrong.

The blond's eyebrows knitted. "What? No- oh gosh, no no," he laughed, his expression softening as he smiled. "Well, kinda? You're a little intimidating sometimes. You just seem a little uneasy— and you kinda dress like a macho guy too, no offense," he stopped himself before he went too far. "Are you nervous, Dave?"

Dave seemed completely distressed— nobody had ever said that to him before, what the fuck? Oh gosh, he didn't know what to do to seem less like a fuckboy, really.

"Um," the drummer stammered. "I'm sorry? Trust me, I'm really nothing like that— yeah, I really am a little nervous cause I just met you guys like ten hours ago, I'm still not really sure how to act around you, if that makes sense?" The brunet apologized. "Once again, I'm really sorry."

Awkward. Kurt sighed. "Hey, it's fine. I already figured that you were nothing like those guys judging by the fact that you're much, much nicer. Also you're not always that scary, especially now since I've seen a completely different side of you. You seem like you've got it all figured out— which might not be entirely true right now, but," Kurt did his best to reassure the younger man; fuck. First impressions were the worst. "Yeah. You're much more different, trust me. You're really likable, to be honest."

After listening to every single word, Dave simply smiled, appearing to have relaxed quite a bit. "I guess we can both agree that first impressions are trash, then," he joked, leaning back in his seat and taking a sip of his drink, watching Kurt smile in return.

"They really do," Kurt grinned, taking a sip of his drink, too.

Perhaps this obnoxious party Krist's wife hosted really was not a bad idea after all. Dave and Kurt had gotten just enough time to relax and unwind together, talking and easing into each other's company, just to get a little more familiar with each other before they'd eventually hit the stage someday.

Kurt was excited for that 'someday', to say the least.
