sutton
The bright lights crept through my window, suddenly waking me up. Groaning, I unpugged my phone from its charger, and scrolled through Instagram. Emily was on vacation with her boyfriend; doesn't suprise me. Charlotte posted a picture of her party last night; she always was the type to party.
I locked my phone quickly and drug myself out of bed, not ready for the day ahead of me. I put on a black pair of skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, and a red and black flannel. Scrolling through a few rows of shoes, I finally found the right pair; white converse. I brushed all the tangles out of my dark black hair and braided it into a messy fishtail.
I trugged down the stairs, going straight towards the kitchen.
"Morning Sutton! Would you like me to cook you some breakfast?" Priscilla offered.
"You don't have to! I'm actually going to go hang out with Ethan today. Then, I plan on going to see Luke, I have to talk to him about a couple things." I confessed.
"Alright, but can I ask you something?" she sighed.
"Yes?" I replied.
"Do you think you can come home early? The girls are starting to ask questions that I don't have answers to." Priscilla wondered.
"Okay, I will." I said, taking a banana from the fruit bowl.

After driving for what felt like forever, I finally arrived at Ethan's house. Turning the ignition off, I happily ran to the front door, knocking on the door quite loudly.
A few moments later, a tired Ethan opened the door, his hair a mess and wearing nothing but sweats.
"ETHAN!" I gasped, hugging him tightly. He chuckled lightly, before hugging me back.
"I've missed you too, Sutton!" he smiled.
He quickly invited me in, and grabbed us both coffee.
"I feel so formal and important when you give me coffee." I giggled.
"Well, you are important." He winked.
Taking a seat next to me on the couch, Ethan turned on the telly. We both say there in silence, occasionally drinking our coffee, but our eyes remained focused on the show.
"What's wrong?" Ethan questioned, breaking the silence.
"Do you really want to know?" I sighed.
"Yeah, because usually you can't stop talking. not hearing you talk is actually quite strange for me." he said.
"That new guy I was complaining to you about, Luke? Well, he's actually not that bad. I find a weird interest in him, but I don't know if I want to friends or more. Anyway, he's got three other friends, and one of them is Calum." I explained.
"Calum, as in Calum Hood?" he asked, his eyes growing wide.
"Yeah, but honestly... I don't know what to do." I whispered.
"Well, I guess this is when my famous advice comes in. I think that you need to decide whether or not this is a good idea. If you like Luke, then you need to decide whether or not you want to put your differences aside with Calum. I know that Calum really did screw you over, so it's up to you." Ethan advised.
I nodded, giving Ethan a tight hug. I quickly pulled my phone out, texting them.
Can we talk? -Sutton
The usual place.
I told Ethan goodbye and went to the park nearby. I sat in the swings that held almost all my memories. Thirty minutes had passed, and they still haven't shown up. I pulled my phone out, typing rapidly when someone took a seat next to me on the swings.
"It's been a long time, Sutton." he sighed.
"I know." I said.
"Why am I here?" he asked.
"You didn't have to show up, you know that." I replied.
"When you get a text from your best friend, well the best friend that stopped being friends with you for a boyfriend, I kind of want to know." He explained.
"Calum, I want to talk about what really happened that summer." I demanded.
"What do you mean?" Calum questioned.
"Why did I wake up wearing your jersey? Why did I wake up in your house? Why did I wake up in so much pain?" I whispered.
"Sutton, do you really want to know?" Calum wondered.
"Yes, Calum, it's always been in the back of my mind." I said.
"You were drunk, and that boyfriend of yours...what was his name?" Calum asked.
"Derek." I replied.
"Anyway, we were kicking off summer at my house like we always do. at first you and I were just watching movies, then Derek showed up with beer and a bunch of people. After awhile he got you hammered, then he took you upstairs to my room. I thought it's what you wanted, because you claimed you were so in love with him. Then, you started screaming." Calum explained.
"You saved me, didn't you?" I cried.
"Of course I did, you were my best friend. I gave you my jersey, because it was the only thing I had left." Calum told.
"I was only 14." I whispered.
"Yeah, and that dick Derek said that you fell down the stairs. You believed him, and you still kept dating him." Calum snapped.
"I didn't remember anything, and you stopped talking to me. Calum, I never once saw you after that night." I whimpered.
"Then why did you want to see me now?" He questioned.
"I want to be friends again." I admitted.
"Is this because of Luke? Or maybe it's Michael?" Calum said.
"A little part of it is. I work with Luke, and we're somewhat friends. I haven't really talked to Ashton, but Michael seems like a great guy. But, mainly, I want the friendship that we used to have. We used to be so close, nothing used to come between us. Calum, please?" I begged.
"It won't be so easy babe." he smirked.
