"Are you ready for it?
Baby let the games begin,
Let the games begin."***
A deadly silence surrounds the dark room as I circle around the man who is tied to the chair in the middle of the room. He is trying his best to inhale as much as he can but it's hard since he has taken quite a beating. The white light right above his head, making it harder for him to keep his eyes open.
I stop right in front of him and put my hands on the armrests of the chair, leaning in a bit. He squints his eyes, trying to focus them on me. I smirk when a look of fear flashes across his face as he recognizes me.
"Hey there! Heard that we got new visitors so I came to greet you myself. How's it going? My people treating you well enough?" I ask him with a bright smile.
"I-- I come in peace! Please-- l-let me go.."
"Well oh well. If you did come in peace, then tell me why my men found you sneaking in our territory?" I step back, keeping my hands behind my back as I turn away from him.
"I..."
"A bit lost at words now, aren't we?" I look back at him, raising my eyebrows.
"Where did you guys find him?" I ask Chris who is standing in the corner of the room, leaning against the wall. His attention is directed towards his red knuckles, examining them closely. By the looks of it, I'm sure he was the one to beat the guy up.
He looks up at me after a moment and answers, "Our men found him sneaking in our territory which meets Malevolent's land."
"Malevolent?" I ask confusedly.
"Yep, pretty sure he's some kind of a spy that's why did this to him," he says as he gestures towards the man who looks like he'll pass out any moment now.
"Now that's just plain rude, isn't it? Should've welcomed him properly, Chris." I turn back to the guy, lowering myself a bit so that I'm at his eye level but keeping my hands behind my back.
"What do you mean? I'm pretty sure he won't spill anything." Chris sounds genuinely confused by my soft tone.
Does he actually not get what I meant or is he playing dumb?
I sigh and decide to just question him further, "Was there anyone else with him?"
"Most probably, I caught him just before he could get away while Louis went after the other. I didn't see his face, so not sure who he was.. maybe another spy." He shrugs.
"Contact him. See if they have the other one yet and if he needs more men, let me know. I'm going to ask Liam how this asshole got here in the first place."
I turn to give one last look of pure disgust to the man who's most likely to be a spy and make my way towards the huge metal door.
"Yes, Boss. But what about him?" Chris asks, following me to the door.
"Well for now, no further harm. Let him be until you get in contact with Tomlinson. You know how Liam can be about the rules of no harm and stuff. We need to know what we're getting ourselves into first and then show them what they have got themselves into," I explain.
"Sure." With that, he leaves.
I make my way towards my office and contact Liam as soon as I can, telling him about the situation at our hands.
Liam Payne has been a part of Armistice for as long as I can remember. He knows how to deal with different types of situations. Not that I don't, but it's better to have an opinion of the person who was the most trusted by my father. Hence, making him my most trusted advisor.
