EDWARD AND COLLIN ARRIVED AT A MASSACRE, A VERY CONFUSING ONE AT THAT. Peter was fighting alongside a newborn and Willow fought against Lilian. Nonetheless, the Butcher still looked upon the fight with a smirk and Maria was nowhere to be seen. Around all of them laid torn-off limps and burning bodies.
"Collin, kill as many newborns as possible. I will handle the Butcher." Not waiting for a reply, Edward sped toward the so-called super-soldier, surprising him with a kick in the gut.
Lilian didn't seem to think. Edward tried to read her thoughts, figure out how to get her out of this state, but there was only an empty void. Her body was moving without Lilian knowing it was.
Whatever the Butcher had done to his brother's mate, she couldn't fight it. He had little time to help Willow, though.
The Butcher was about to punch his head off his body, when Edward got out of the way and grabbed his arm. In attempt to disorientate and separate him, he swung the vampire into the darker part of the woods.
26, 28, 29, Peter was counting the number of newborns he had killed by now. Edward knew Willow was helping him, by making others kill off their friends and clan-mates. Maybe they could win just yet.
The presence of another opponent caught him slightly off guard. Quinn's roundhouse kick – perfected with his own help – made Edward's body lift from the ground and collide with a tree. Oh, Lord, he thought.

There was not one newborn left. They had actually done it! Willow smiled at herself for a moment. They just killed forty-six newborns – just two vampires and a wolf.
Peter had gone off to help Edward, telling Willow to guard the temporarily knocked-out Lilian Harper. Collin was surveying the perimeter, hoping to kill any newborns who managed to escape.
A movement in the corner of her eye made Willow's head snap up. All her senses were on high alert. She wouldn't let anything else happen to Lilian. Jasper would kill her.
"Guarding the weak pup, honey?" Maria spoke up from behind her. "Don't worry, your brother's effects on her won't last long." Willow looked over her shoulder, a snarl escaping her lips. The blonde was smarter than to attack her now. Willow had something to defend, it gave her a disadvantage.
"Just go back to your desert, Maria. Your army is gone, and once Jasper discovers what you did, nothing will stop him from tearing you apart," she said calmly, eyeing the woods around her. Willow tried to block Lilian from sight, but she had no idea where Maria was.
"Oh, little Whitlock," Maria suddenly turned up at her left, slapping her out of the way. "I'm not afraid of your brother." Now ready to fight, Willow ran toward the vampire. Maria just smirked, getting in her own stance.
