THEY LOOKED INTO THE SIMBERING EMBERS. They just stared. Lilian was seething, her anger nearby complete madness. How could they have done this?

"Don't do this Lilian. You realize this is hard on all of us, right?" said Edward. Next to him stood Willow and Peter. Both of their face were grave and shocked.

Lilian's bright red eyes glared at her relative and her friend. The silver wolf above her growled, noticing how she'd started to fight her restraining again.

The poisoned blood in her veins made her brain spike with anger again. They killed them. How could they have killed them? Lilian growled. "Release me this instant, so that I can rip off your heads." Her attitude surprised the wolf above her and the others. But not Peter. He just stood there, staring at the fire.

"Here we have the newborn nature I've always seen," Peter joked humorlessly. Edward shook his head a little.

"Don't provoke her, Peter. She's not rational right now." Edward eyed her up and down, and Lilian cursed him in her mind. The blood in Lilian's veins burned her willpower and her mind. It hurt like hell.

Willow gave a nod, agreeing with Edward. "She doesn't understand it yet, but my brother was a monster. And Quinn was a traitor."

TWENTY-FOUR HOURS EARLIER

"I thought what Maria and I had was love," she heard Jasper say. He sounded emotional... "But I was her puppet." She stopped fighting Edward for a moment, listening closely. Jasper was telling Bella his history. "She pulled the strings. Drinking blood from humans was one of the most horrible things to do, especially with my gifts. I didn't know there was another way, until I met Alice."

Lilian smiled sadly. Alice had been Jasper's savior, and for that, she'd be eternally grateful. The newborn stopped listening when Edward pushed her into the dirt of the field.

"Concentrate, Lilian. You need to be able to fight! Jasper is your mate, and if you are not capable in a battle, he is not either." Those words hit base, quite easily. Something clicked inside her and she stopped fooling around.

"Okay, then, Eddie; teach me some nasty tricks for the battlefield, if you're so good at it." Behind her, Collin, Logan and Emmett burst out laughing. Lilian looked at them, raising a single eyebrow questioningly.

"Oh, we're not laughing about you, Lil... just some nasty tricks on the battlefield." Tears were rolling down Collin's cheeks.

Lilian and Edward both sighed. "Toddlers."

"Come on, darlin', you can do better than that," Jasper taunted, as he gave Lilian a smirk. He'd beat her for the sixth time in a fight now. The others had already stopped training, sure of their abilities to fight off the newborns. Now, Charlotte, Peter and Giacomo were simply watching the couple train with each other playfully.
