"SO, WHO ELSE LIVES HERE?" Lilian asked upon entering Layla and Vincenzo's house. It was beautiful beyond words, with enough windows to see the entire night sky.

"In this house live only two pairs of mated vampires. There's me and Vince," Layla said, "and Logan and Willow." Lilian stopped her tracks, her eyes widening.

"Willow Holland?" the redhead asked, and she scoffed when Layla nodded, "You've got to be kidding me."

"No!" Another voice exclaimed, "No, no, no! Vince, don't tell me thisis Lilian Harper."

"I believe so, Will," Vincenzo said calmly, "and don't you dare use your gift of compulsion to make her leave."

"Actually," Lilian spoke up with a smirk, changing her appearance to her human form, "this is Lilian Harper. The redhead's appearance is called Nicole Shaw."

"What the fuck?" Willow exclaimed, "Do you have dissociative identity disorder or something?"

Lilian laughed at her, shaking her head, "No, it's just an alter ego to make sure that I won't be recognized in the States."

Lilian then went with Layla for the sitting room, explaining the entire situation to her hosts. She told them about her human life, and how it ended. Lilian explained the reason she didn't want to see her mate or anyone from his family... without saying names.

"Why aren't you telling any names?" Willow asked curiously, though a smirk covered her face, "scared we'll know them and tell them you're here with us?"

Lilian shrugged slightly, "Sort of," she mumbled, "but I'm also afraid that you'll judge me..."

"Why would we judge you for loving someone?" Vincenzo countered, raising his eyebrows.

Lilian sighed instead, "Are you familiar with the Major of the South?"

Silence, a tensed silence. Vincenzo seemed to rethink his statement and Layla made no effort to breathe, and Lilian suspected this to be her way of concealing a gasp.

"We are," said Willow bitterly, and Lilian instantly knew that Willow didn't trust her, "my mate, Logan had a confrontation with him before I was by his side."

"He's met him, then..." Lilian gulped, knowing that a meeting with Jasper beforehis time with the Cullens could have been lethal, which kept her wondering how Logan was alive.

"When he and his mate were at the peak of their reign, yes," Willow conceded, eyeing Lilian suspiciously. The look made Lilian's brain work double shifts, why the hell did she look so familiar like that? And how the hell could Logan have met Jasper's mate before she was born, it's not like vampires...
