Chapter Seven

Cody woke up really early on Monday to go to work. As he came out of the shower, he saw his mom holding a freshly ironed suit and straightening out the imaginary wrinkles in it. Of course, as die hard fan, she would know that today is the death anniversary of her fan's man. He thought dryly as he took the suit from her. "Thanks mom"
"You're welcome. Now hurry up and go meet her" she said and winked as if he was going to meet his girlfriend and not his employer.

For some reason, she ships him and Pamela. For crying out loud, that girl only dates fellow rich and popular guys. So far, Dave is the fifth guy she has dated since he started working for her five years ago. He knew for a fact that she really likes Dave, unlike the other guys that she just dated because they "looked cute" as she would say. Three years ago, she saw an advertisement that Dave was in and just totally "fell in love with him" . And finally, they're dating. She is a perfect example of someone who always gets what she wants.

He got to her house in an hour. As usual, he had to go to her room and pull her out of bed like he's been doing everyday on her mother's death anniversary for the past five years.
"I don't wanna wake up. Leave me alone" she said and gave a perfect kick with her tiny feet that connected to his jaw.
"Wake up Princess. You need to be ready in two hours so we can make it on time. Miriam is not around so you'd have to dress up by yourself" he said as he rubbed his hurting jaw with one hand and pulled her leg with the other.
"I don't want to. I want to lay in bed the whole day Cody" she whined.
"Okay, you asked for it"
"What are you..." She didn't finish what she was saying when he started tickling her. And that was how he got her out of bed so they'd make it on time to her home in LA.

Her father met them at the entrance to the house. He was also sporting a black suit like Cody, bit of course,a more expensive one.

"There you are baby" he said and gave her a light hug. "And this here must be your new boyfriend" he turned to Cody causing his ear to turn a little red.

"No dad, this is my chief guard ,remember?I chose him from the guys you brought over. Dave is my new boyfriend. The actor Dave" she said with an eye roll.

"Oh, I remember now. Hope you're taking good care of my baby?" He said to Cody.
"Yes Sir. I try my best" Cody said causing the man to give a light chuckle.

"If not the little demoness. The one who killed her own mother. You have the nerve to stand here and laugh instead of kowtowing and asking for forgiveness" a sharp voice said as they saw a woman with a face sharper than a machete approaching. She could have been called pretty, but the permanent scowl on her face makes it hard to give her a second glance. Pamela's neck shrank visibly. This is the only human on earth that is able to scare her.

"Hello Diana. Welcome to my home" Mr. Anderson said, and the playful tone from earlier could no longer be heard in his voice.
"Humph" Diana turned up her nose "I just can't understand why a kind man like you could give birth to a demon that killed her own mother" She said and looked directly at Pamela.

"Now Diana, this year, I am in no mood for your drama. Something similar comes out of your mouth again and I'll throw you off my property" Mr. Anderson said in a stern voice.
"Since everybody is here, let's go in" he continued without waiting for what she'd say in return.
He turned and took Pamela's hand. Cody stood behind her so Diana had to walk behind Cody. She could be heard harrumphing from the back every five seconds but nobody cared about her. Mr. Anderson led them through a series of rooms before they arrived at a grand room with a chandelier as big as a carriage. This place never seizes to amaze Cody even though he's been here a couple of times.

As soon as they entered the room, everyone stopped talking to stare at them. There were about fifty people in the room. Some from Mr Anderson's family and the rest from the late Mrs Anderson's family. To be precise, all eyes were turned onto Pamela. Some contained disgust, others fear, and others pity. Now, this is what Cody doesn't get, everyone except Pamela's dad believes Pamela killed her mom.

From what he's heard so far, Diana was the person to arrive at the scene and that's what she started saying. But after the police investigation, Pamela was found innocent. Her only connection to the incident being that she was present. But Diana made sure everybody in the family thought she killed her mom. If not for Mr Anderson being a little harsh on her, she would have told the media. Nobody knows what actually happened because immediately the police got to the scene, Pamela fainted. When she woke up, she couldn't anything that happened that day. She developed selective amnesia that very day.
