Cody got home late at night looking like he just ran a marathon.
"Why do you look so tired?" his mom asked.
"Well, considering I had to prepare breakfast, lunch and supper and also help her paint her room from baby pink to purple, help her choose what she wore in the morning, afternoon and evening, including her nightdress. And take her for a drive through the neighborhood to see how beautiful the streetlights are...oh, and not forgetting the part where I was her personal crying pillow when she rewatched 'When They See Us', it is even amazing that I am still standing right now" Cody answered."I really never understood why her dad was willing to let such a young child live alone in a house with six bedrooms. She's bound to feel lonely. That is why it is good to have a mother. She certainly wouldn't let her stay alone. But poor girl that she is, she had to lose her mother at such a young age" his mom ranted.
Oh no, don't you go sympathizing with that girl. She finds joy in torturing people. But he couldn't say that out loud because surprisingly, his mom was a fan of Pamela's. Yes, as in a die-hard fan. If Pamela were one to hold fan signs, he's sure his mom would have attended all of them.
Frankly, he doesn't get why a girl who refuses to hire a manger or sign up with an agency and only accepts offers she feels like accepting has so many fans. He can count the number of movies she's acted on his right hand. Favor does shine brighter on some people than others.
If only those fans knew how she really is. But then again, he tells his mom what he goes through at work everyday, yet still she defends her all the time. So he could only sigh and walk to his room to take a much needed bath. Luckily for him, tomorrow is a Sunday. And Sundays equals holidays. He smiled sheepishly whilst undressing.

Pamela woke up to the sound of her phone ringing. She answered without checking the caller ID.
"Hello baby"
"Hello dad. Why are you calling me so early in the morning?"
"Morning? Baby, it's almost two in the afternoon"
"Oh"
"Just 'oh'? Anyways, I was calling to check up on you. And I hope you know what day tomorrow is?" Her dad asked in a solemn tone.
"Yes dad,I know. I'll be there. Now leave me so I can go back to sleep" she said and hung up him.Of course she knows what day tomorrow is. The worst day of her life. The day she lost her mother. The 16th day of July. How could she ever forget. Not wanting to dwell on bad memories, she forced herself to go back to sleep.
When she woke up again, it was exactly four in the afternoon, she dragged herself to the kitchen and drank some water. Her stomach rumbled and she rummaged through her fridge and found leftover lasagna that Cody prepared yesterday. She must say, not listening to Sheila and hiring him was one of the best decisions she had ever made. Where would you find a guard as great as him.
She smiled to herself as she ate. Yesterday was fun with him around. She replayed what happened in the morning. When she hugged him. She told herself she'd try hugging Dave the next time they meet to see if she'd feel anxious again or not. Just then her phone dinged and it was a message from Dave. "Hey babes, i miss you like crazy, hope you're missing me too?" She smiled as she started texting a reply. You'd think they've been dating for years instead of just 2 months.
