The rest of the day went by quickly despite my pleas for a longer day. I did not want to meet this new android.

(PAUSE! in this book RK900 will be referred to as Conan.)

"Reed." I glance back at Fowler as his tall brooding figure stands in the frame of his office doorway. I glance away and stand up, slowly trudging to his office. Reluctant on meeting this new android who has come to haunt my life.

"This is RK900." Fowler gestures to an android that looks quite like Connor. "He's the more advanced version of the RK800, or as he's referred to in our department, Connor." I nod my head, and my eyes quickly skim over the android sitting in front of me.

He's quite lean, he's very attractive.

"You'll give him a name since he'll be living with you." My eyes widen.

"What the fuck?" Fowler's eyes narrow at me, causing me to scowl. "He'll be living with you from now on until this case is over."

My scowl worsens as I glance back over to the android.

"I'd rather live with the other tin can." I grimace as I call Connor 'tin can'. It's not like I want too. It hurts me. But I have a reputation to keep.

Fowler rolls his eyes and then grunts. "I don't give a flying shit Gavin. Take him home."

I growl and then storm out of his office quickly. I gather the items that I brought into work and quickly walk out of the building. My shift has ended.

"Detective." I wince as the android calls out my name as I walk toward my car.

"What would you like to name me?" I wip around and glare at the android. "I don't fucking care. Just call yourself Conan." I wip back around and get in my car, putting the key in the ignition and starting up the car.

I sit for a moment and wait for Conan to enter the car. The heat blasting against the cold air in the car, warming it up. It seems to be getting colder and colder as the days go on, and I am absolutely despising it. I don't like cold weather.

I pull out of the parking lot, heading towards the diner. I knew seeing Lisa would cheer me up slightly.

"Where are we headed Detective?" I glance over quickly at Conan before adverting my gaze back to the road. "To a diner."

Conan leaves it at that as we continue to drive down the road. The snow slowly piling up on the sidewalks, the buildings with Christmas lights hanging up, bright colorful signs lighting on and off. Little figures standing outside.

I glance back over to Conan as he stares out the window. A small smile gracing his lips.

- -

The inside of the diner smelt of gingerbread  and ham. Cooking Christmas cookies and dinners before the advancing date.

I know Christmas is right around the corner, but I never celebrate. I don't have any family here.

"Hey Gavin darling." I glance at Lisa with a small smile on my face. Her rosy cheeks always light up my day. I know she loves it here in the diner.

"Could you just get me a cookie?" Lisa nods her head briskly, and then marches off. A small smile lighting up her features.

"You know her personally Detective," Conan questions, glancing at me with a perfectly structured raised brow.

I nod my head slightly. "She knows my immediate family." Conan nods his head and then allows his eyes to skim around the room.

I notice that day by day, more and more little pictures appear on the wall. I feel slightly envious. I'm not able to come here with my family.

"If she knows your family, why don't you bring them here?" I glance at Conan, my heart heavy with sadness.

"They all passed a while ago. I also don't remember them." I turn away and watch Lisa walk back to us. "Here's your cookie dear. I'll be on break in 10." I nod my head and she smiles shyly before skipping away.

Conan stays very quiet as I slowly munch on my cookie.

I glance around again. Glancing at each family, another overwhelmingly sad feeling washing over my body, causing me to go rigid.

I never wish to cry, but I couldn't help the tears that forced their way through the seal on my eyes to run in thick trails coating the skin of my cheeks.

"Gavin-," I stand up abruptly and quickly rush out of the building furiously wiping my cheeks. There's only one person I can go to. Only one person I want to be with right now. Whether he wants to see me or not.

- -

I furiously knock on their door, my tears still running thickly, leaving sticky trails in their path.

The door is pulled open gently, revealing a slightly disheveled Connor. My eyes roam for a moment, leading up to his worried face as I force my legs forward and collapse into his arms. Sobbing into his chest.

"Ga-Gavin." I hear Connor mumble, although his arms wrap around me almost automatically. It almost feels like I'm supposed to be here.

I become stiff in his grip. (Oh dam-) My tears seize for a moment as I glance up to Connor's face. He's staring directly at me, a worried look covering his features. His eyebrows are creased and his lips are thinned. His eyes turn a slightly darker brown.

"Are you okay Gavin?" I quickly close my eyes, and my eyebrows unsubconciously screw together.

I then lean my head against his chest and shake my head, my tears starting up again. I cry silently in his grasp.

"It hurts. Not remembering them. It hurts keeping this secret." I close my mouth, and continue leaning against Connor, relaxing slowly as I feel his hands start to rub my back.

"It's okay Gavin," Connor whispers, almost soothingly. It calms me down enough for my tears to let up and for the sobs to slowly come to an end.

I glance up at Connor, his features replaced with a slight smile, although the worry is still apparent.

"Why don't we talk about it?"

I nod my head and allow Connor to lead me over to the couch. I sit down gently, and lean back, my eyes closed.

My tears seize, and I lean back up, staring over in Connor's direction. He stares at me with a light smile. I glance up to his eyes, causing me to gasp in surprise.

In his eyes, in the deepest pools of his eyes. The brown hues that have captured my heart. All I can see is simple adoration... and love.

Oooo~ It is starting to get juicy.

So Connor is also starting to show his feelings? ;)
