Midoriya was cooped up in his dorm room half of the day, crying in his pillow. He eventually fell asleep at some point, tired out from sobbing. He had lost his voice from screaming and crying, so it sounded a bit squeaky when he would try to talk. His throat was sore from all that yelling, so he tried not to swallow as much.
A soft knock was heard from his door and he woke up from the noise. He looked at his clock.
8:15 pm
Jeeze, how long did he sleep?
The knock was heard again. He didn't feel like getting up from the bed and he just stayed there.
"Come...in..." his squeaky voice said muffled into the pillow. The door opened and then closed. Soft footsteps were heard coming near to his bed. Midoriya saw who it was. Half of his hair red and the other white. He knew who that was.
"Hey..." the boy said in a monotoned voice. "H-hi..." Midoriya replied back.
"What are you doing he...here?" Midoriya asked. The other boy sat down on the edge of the bed. "J-just checking up on you...Aizawa-sensei told me to come and check on you and make sure how you're doing...I don't know what seems to be the problem, but you look upset and I noticed that your voice was raspy. Are you okay?" Todoroki asked, trying his best to sound concerned rather than just talking in one tone.Midoriya didn't respond. He curled himself up into a ball and pulled the blanket over his head. "I-I'm fine..."
Todoroki slowly pulled the covers off him and stared at the boy. Tears streamed down his freckled cheeks, and that saddened frown was there, the one that Todoroki saw when he had that breakdown at lunch that one time.
"Have you talked to Togata lately?" Todoroki asked. The greenette shook his head and hid his face in his pillow. Todoroki frowned. "You sure you're okay?" he asked as his hand reached down and touched the boy's back, as he started to slowly move it in a gentle circular motion. He wasn't the greatest at comforting people, but he knew a few things from his mom when he was younger and going through all that rough training with his father.A soft sob escaped from Midoriya. Todoroki's eyes quickly snapped up to look at the boy and he had stopped rubbing his back. "I...I don't know..." the boy sobbed. "I-it all just...I can't..."
The sobbing started to go out of control and Midoriya had completely lost it. He was having another meltdown.Todoroki didn't know how to stop someone from crying. But he knew his mother allowed him to cry until he had completely calmed down when he was younger. She would hold him tight in a hug and sway him slowly back and forth as he cried. He's never tried it with someone besides his mother trying it on him. It seemed to always be helpful when he was going through rough things.
It felt like he was in a boat and the boat was softly rocking him back and forth like a cradle.
Todoroki pulled Midoriya close to him and held him tight in a hug as he swayed back and forth in a gentle motion. "Your okay Midoriya...everything is going to be fine...don't cry...please..." Todoroki said in a soft voice. Midoriya buried his head into the other boy's chest and sobbed. He stayed like this while Todoroki rocked him back and forth hugging him in silence and telling him it'll be okay every once in a while.
The shorter boy unhinged himself from Todoroki's wrapped arms after a while. Midoriya awkwardly apologized. Todoroki forgave him for no reason. Midoriya didn't really need to apologize. He didn't do anything wrong.
"Midoriya?" Todoroki said. Midoriya looked up at the other. "What's been making you feel so down? It's really concerning. I-I'm mostly worried about you than the others in our class...I mean, they're worried and they care, but I'm the most...worried..."
Midoriya sniffled his stuffed up nose and wiped away one more tear. He sat there for another second silent, then got the courage to speak.
His voice was shaky, but he tried to ignore that as best as he could. "Do you remember All For One?"
The half-and-half boy nodded quickly.
"I-it's hard to tell this but...I-I found out that he's my father..."And Todoroki thought he had terrible daddy issues...
This was way worse.
