"So let me get this straight," Councillor Emery said. "You're a witch, and can do magic?" "Obviously," Rose replied. Albus nodded beside. her. Turns out, he had done a disillusionment charm on himself, turning himself invisible. He had silently disabled the shield, and left his sister to do the rest. "I'm not very good at defensive spells, you see."

"Do you expect us to believe this without any proof?" Rose groaned with exasperation and gestured pointedly at Alvar, Lady Gisela, and Gethen. "Well, can you show us some? This could give you a chance to go to foxfire. It's the most outstanding achievement." Rose laughed. "I think Hogwarts is enough for me, thanks." Keefe nearly spit out his drink laughing. She looked at him contemptuously before replying, "Hogwarts. School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

The table was silent for a moment. "We're getting off topic. Could you show us some magic?" Alden asked. Rose silently pulled out her wand again and turned her goblet into a mouse. There were some shrieks and gasps, along with a , "It's so cute!" from Linh. Once the mouse was safely perched on Linh's shoulder,  Rose said, "Why is it that some of you can only do specific things? I mean, can't you do magic?" The elves in the room squirmed. "Well, no," Bronte started. "It's our abilities. We're limited to only what our abilities allow us in do. Why? What can you do?"

Sophie and her friends watched in wonder as Albus and Rose began to demonstrate every one of their abilities.

"Hydrokinetic?"

"Aguamenti!"

"Pyrokinetic?"

"Incendio!"

"Psionipath?"

"Protego!"

"Telepath?"

"Legilimens!"

On and on it went. Until the council had run out of talents. The only exception was technopath, which Albus responded to, "Muggle technology. How inconvenient." This had gotten some disbelieving looks from Dex, unsurprisingly. "So could you make food appear from thin air?" Keefe wondered aloud. Rose answered immediately, her words clear and carefully planned, as if she had been reciting verbatim.  "The-five-exceptions-to-Gamp's-Law-of Elemental-Transfiguration-are-taken-to-be-things-that-cannot-be-conjured-from-nothing-or transfigured-from -unrelated-items. Food being one of them," she finished promptly. "Sounding like you ate a textbook, like always." Albus said under his breath. She cuffed him around the head.
