U might die.
**
I see light creeping into my bedroom. I open my eyes slightly to adjust. I turn over to try to get more sleep. I open my eyes again and I see April on the other side of my bed.
"Miss me?" She says.
"What are you doing?" I say barely understand what is happening.
"It's time to wake up, sleeping beauty," April says.
"Why?" I ask.
"Why not?" She ask.
"You can't answer a question with a question," I say.
"Oh does it say that in the official question and answer book?" She says.
"Whatever," I say.
I get out of bed and go to the bathroom. I turn around and shut the door in April's face who was indeed following me into the bathroom.
"It's cool," she says. "I'll just pick an outfit for you."
"Wonderful," I say back.
I wash my face and brush my teeth and go back to my room. I see a outfit that isn't half bad looking on my bed. I change and go downstairs to eat breakfast. I see my dad waiting for me to make sure I am still going to school. Just because I missed a few days here and there doesn't mean anything. I smile at him while I grab a granola bar from the kitchen and go to my car. I wonder if Brad is going to school? Why does he even go to school if he is dead? I wouldn't that is probably the only thing I know for sure. I get to school and I dread through until 3:00. I was about to get back inside my car until I saw a note on my windshield.
We need to talk. -B
You think we need to talk because I was just thinking the same thing. Oh my goodness Brad we have so much alike except you have murdered a few more people than I have but that really doesn't matter does it? I drive home wondering how I am going to react to Brad. Should I yell at him or be scared that he could kill me. I pull into my driveway and go inside my house. I put my bag in my room on the floor then I go to the basement. I remember when I use to be scared of the basement but now I just feel like it has so much impact on me. When I get to the lost step I hear Chad's voice.
"Rebecca! So glad you could join me," he says. "I was just about to start a game of Uno. Would you like to join?"
"Have you seen Brad?" I ask.
"Oh, he went out." He says. "Probably going to kill someone else. Why don't you join me until he returns?"
"Okay," I say.
I sit with him while he passes me the cards. He looks right at me when he flips the last card over that we play on.
"Red," I say.
"Indeed," he says.
I place a card down.
"So why do you need to see Brad?" He ask me while putting his card down.
"Oh we just need to talk about yesterday," I say.
"Are you going to break up with him?" He ask. "I wouldn't mind seeing it since he killed me once before and I hate him for it."
"I think we need to talk before I break up with him," I say. "I might not even break up with him."
Chad slams his hand on the wall which makes me jump.
"You are so stupid," he says. "He is going to kill you. Did April tell you what happen to her?"
"Yes," I say while placing a card down.
"Then how could you be so stupid?" He ask.
"Please stop saying that," I say.
"What?" He ask.
"Stop calling me stupid," I say angrier then I said before.
"Oh are you going to cry to your boyfriend about it?" He ask. "Be careful he might kill you if you cry to much."
I don't know what came over me but I slapped Chad. It was probably the biggest mistake of my life.
"I don't know who you think you are Rebecca?" He says. "But there are consequences when stuff like that happens?"
Chad looks up at me and puts down a card.
"Uno," he says while putting his last card down.
"Well it's been a fun game I better get going," I say while standing up.
"Don't be silly you aren't going anywhere," he says.
"Since when do I take orders from you?" I ask.
"Since you slapped me about two minutes ago," Chad says. "I think you should follow me Rebecca."
"Or what?" I ask.
"Or I'll kill you and you'll have to stay in this house forever," Chad says.
"Well you didn't have to be so blunt about it," I say.
"It's a skill," he says while he starts walking to the back of the basement.
"I can tell," I say while following. "I have a question."
"Proceed," he says.
"Are you going to kill me?" I ask.
"It's a possibility," he says. "I said I wanted to get revenge on Brad and wouldn't the only person he loved happen to die suddenly and unexpectedly be a real tragedy?"
"It would be a good end to a book wouldn't it," I say.
"Are you not scared?" He ask.
"I can't change anything can I?" I ask. "You're three times the size of me and no matter where I go you can find me."
"True," he says. "Sit here."
He points to a chair in the corner. I walkover and sit down and Chad leaves the room. I wonder how he is going to kill me.
"Hey Chad," April says while walking into the room. "Oh Rebecca I didn't know you would be in here. What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for your brother to kill me," I reply.
"Pretty blunt about it," she says.
"Sure," I say.
Chad walks into the room with a gun.
"April what are you doing?" Chad says.
"I could ask you the same question," she says. "But Rebecca already told me."
"Thanks for filling her in," Chad says.
"No problem," I say. "I have a question."
"You seem to have a lot," Chad says.
"Why would you kill me?" I ask. "Wouldn't it kinda defeat the revenge part since you are letting the person he loves the most be with him forever."
Chad doesn't say anything but just get this look come over his face.
"I don't get you Rebecca," he says. "Wouldn't it be a problem if he had to spend forever with a person who doesn't love him back."
"That would be a problem," I say.
"This is why I'm fixing to shoot you so he will be miserable the rest of his life," he says.
"Great," was the last thing I said before he shot me in the head.
