Betty's POV
*10 years later*
"Mommy!" I hear my oldest say. "Yes Nathan?" I ask. "Can we go to Grandpa and Grandma's house?" He asks. He is 6 years old. We have 4 other kids because Jug wanted to have as many kids as we can. I rolled my eyes with a smile when he said that.
So here we are at 29 years old with 5 kids. Nathan Caleb Jones, the oldest. Cassie Mae and Callie Arizona Jones, the twins. They're 4 years old. Then there's Izzie Katherine Jones. She's 3 years old. Our youngest is Morgan Marie Jones. She's almost 2 years old. We moved back to Riverdale after Jug finished college.
"I have to talk to your dad, you remember the last time we went somewhere. The Paps followed us." I say and roll my eyes. I forgot to mention that we're kinda famous. Jug's a bestselling author and I'm a model/actress. Sometimes our kids model too, but not a lot because I want them to have the best childhood.
"Jug." I say as I push the office door open. "Yeah?" He asks looking up at me. "Nate wants to go to mom and dad's." I tell him. "Okay, I'm coming." He says and puts some things away. He kisses my cheek as we go to the kids' rooms.
We pull up at their house and get the kids out. "Mama!" Morgan squeals. I pick her up. Mom opens the door and smiles when she sees us. "We were going to go to Pop's, wanna join?" She asks. "Always." Jug says. The kids giggle at him and he smirks.
Dad and Lonnie come out a few minutes later. "Hey Liv!" I say and ruffle her hair. "Hey Betty." She says quietly. Lonnie is a quiet kid. She's kind of like me when I was younger, but she doesn't have any siblings to play with. She has nieces and nephews though. A bunch of those.
"Ready?" Mom asks them. They nod and we start the short walk to Pop's.
Pop greets us as we walk in and take a seat in a big booth that was made for us when we were kids. "Hey." We say back to him. "Your normal's?" He asks. We all nod and start talking about random things.
He brings the kids meals for the kids and all of our food. "Thanks." We say. He nods and goes to another customer.
"So how's it been?" Mom asks. "Pretty good." Jug says. I give Morgan some fries. "Yeah, we're on baby number 6." I say. "Really?" Dad asks. We nod. "Cheryl sent us pictures last week of them settling in a new apartment in LA." I show them the picture. "Sasha is getting so big." Sasha is Cheryl and Toni's adopted little girl. She just turned 1 a few months ago.
We sat there talking and eating. The kids going on about something new they saw. Mom and Dad listening to them while also listening to us.
"Mama I gotta potty." Izzie says. All the kids had to. "I'll take them." I say to Jug. Lonnie follows us and I lead them all to the small bathroom.
I helped them wash and dry their hands. As we were walking out the door, I heard shouting and a gunshot. I push the kids back towards the wall and peak out the door.
There was a guy in a mask pointing a gun at dad and mom. I couldn't see Jug. Someone wraps there arms around me and I go to scream. They put their and on my mouth. "It's just me." They whisper. It was Jug. I sigh and he pushes me back where the kids are. "Be quiet and sit still." I tell the kids.
Jug goes to walk back out to help dad and mom when more gunshots are heard. The kids whimper as I try to cover all their ears. Jug walks back and locks the door. "We can't go out there right now." Jug says with tears.
"We can try to sneak out the other door." I whisper, tears in my eyes too. "It's too risky." He says. The kids start crying and I try and calm them down. "It's going to be alright, I promise." I tell them. I hold Morgan on my lap and Jug takes the twins on his. Lonnie and Nate are in between us. I rock Morgan back and forth, Jug doing the same to Cassie and Callie. Nate and Lonnie were leaning against us.
We waited for the shouting and screaming to stop and then there were sirens. The kids were silently crying. Someone bangs on the bathroom door and they scream. "It's the police!" They shout. Jug gets up and the twins grab his lags. "No daddy!" They cry. "Come here." I tell them. Jug picks them up and sets them next to me.
Jug's POV
I open the door and see two cops. I look around at the bodies on the floor and gasp. Alice and dad were on the floor. I start sobbing and fall to my knees. They were our parents, Lonnie's parents, the kids' grandparents, and now they were dead.
"Can you identify any of the bodies?" One cop asks me. I nod. "Those are my parents." I choke out and point to them. "That's Pop. This was his diner." I cry. They both nod writing things down. "Did anyone escape?" I ask them. They nod. I motion for Betty and the kids to come out.
"Wow, how did you all stay away from this?" The other cop asks. "They all had to use the bathroom and I took them." Betty says. "Cover your eyes." I tell the kids. They put their hands on their eyes and we lead them out the back door. The cops go back into the main part of the diner. I took Morgan from Betty as she was falling asleep on Betty's shoulder.
"We have to walk back to the car and then we're going to go home, take baths, and get in bed." I tell them. They were exhausted from all the crying they did.
Once we were home we did just that. The kids got in the bath and went to bed. Betty and I were crying and holding each other. "W-we have t-to ca-call them." She sobs. "I know." I say and reach for my phone.
"N-now?" She asks. "So we get it over with." I tell her. She nods and I start dialing numbers. The day was emotional and traumatizing.
When we were done calling everyone, Betty lifts her head off of my chest and sits up quickly. "What?" I ask worriedly. She runs over to our closet and unfolds a diary. It had a picture in it. She holds up the picture. "Juggie, this is the same person from my nightmares." She tells me, wiping tears off her face. I look at it in shock. "This can't be real." I say.
A/N So this is finished. Let me know what you think. Did you cry? I am an emotional person so I did a little when I wrote this. I had this planned out a couple chapters ago, but I didn't know how to write it. See you in the next book or in my other stories if you read those.
