Taissa P. o. V :
* I'm sorry if I say I need ya, but I don't care, I'm not scared of love. *
My alarm clock goes off, and I check my phone to see that it's 6:15 am. The school bell rings at 7:45, so I've got a bit of time to get ready. I put my phone down and flatten back down on my bed just thinking:
•Today is my first day at a new school.
•You've done this before, you'll be fine.
•But for some reason you're more nervous than usual.
I have no idea what it is, but the butterflies in my stomach are flapping away today. Maybe it's because I'm in New York. This city is so loud and bright. The skyline at night is like a gigantic sculpture created to imitate the image of a dream come alive. I smile at the thought. New York is different. New York is vivid. New York is electrifying.
After contemplating whether or not I want to be successful in life, or work at Walmart for the rest of ever because I
want to stay home and sleep, I decide to pull myself out of bed. Tiredly, I make my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth, hair, and do my makeup. I don't go supper crazy with the makeup. Just simple eyeliner and mascara to bring out my dark round eyes. For my hair, I grab my curling wand and make loose waves at the bottom of my hair. I like the whole "Bethany Mota, beach" vibe.Next I have to pick out my outfit. Obviously, I want to give people a good first impression of me, so I want to look presentable, yet casual. I decide to go with high waisted black jeans and a knit cream sweater. Then I throw on a long-chained owl necklace just to spice things up a bit.
I quickly give myself a look in the mirror and run down the steps.
I'm greeted by my mom and little brother Jason."Hey honey! Are you nervous?" My mom is super smily this morning, which is kind of annoying.
"Yeah. Don't remind me. " I'm not a morning person, but there is still a bit of sarcasm in that statement.
"We'll I'm sure you be fine. Same with you Jason." She spins around to meet my little brother's eyes. He's sitting at the counter eating a bowl of cereal.
"Eh. It's just fourth grade. Not much to be nervous about when all it is is just annoying people nagging you about where you came from. " he rolls his eyes as he speaks.
"Well, it's 7:30. Lets head to the car,"
My mom pats my brother on his back and he follows her out the door. I scramble around to find my black combat boots.Once I pull those on, I grab my backpack and dart out the door.
*^ SCHOOL^*
My mom pulls up to the front of the building. Here comes the nerves again. Somehow, she notices my restless butterflies.
"You'll be fine. Now hurry up before you're late." She pats my knee and motions me out of the vehicle. I wave to Jason, but he's too busy playing on his game---whatever.
As I walk up to the school, there are large groups of people outside.
Great.
I love people.
I don't look around much because I don't want to seem like creep. A few people noticed my existence, but didn't seem too bothered by it. I hear a couple cat calls, but decide to ignore it, so I just walk up to the front doors.
As I push the door open I feel the other side slam into something hard.
"OW!!!" Someone screeches.I jump back as a tall figure works it's way out of the building and marches up to me. It's a boy...and a very attractive one might I add.
He's wearing a Blink 182 shirt with black jeans. His hair is golden blonde styled into a high quiff....woah.
Oh.
My.
God.
I hit THAT with a door!?
He marches over to me quicker than I expected. "ARE YOU MAD?! YOU CAN'T JUST PUSH DOORS OPEN LIKE IT'S NOBODY'S FREAKIN BUSINESS!!!" He's mad. Oooooohhh
God.He's holding the bridge of his nose while getting up in my face. I notice that his eyes are really blue, and I mean REALLY blue.
While his lips are moving, I couldn't stop myself from staring at his bottom lip. He has it pierced.
Hot.
"ARE YOU GOING TO APOLOGIZE OR ARE YOU JUST GONNA STARE AT ME LIKE A STALKER??"
Before I reply I hesitate:" I am so so so sorry. I'm new here, so I don't really know which is the In and Out Door. " I say calmly, trying not to frustrate him even more.
"Well that's not an excuse for nearly breaking my nose but....it not nothing." he walks away letting go of his nose.
Well that was a great way to start your first day of school. Breaking the nose of practically the hottest guy you've ever seen.
Fantastic.
He had some kind of accent though. I'm pretty sure he's Australian.
Cool.
I shake the dreamy, yet scary, boy out of my mind and make my way in the building.
Hopefully this day will get better.
