As soon as I walk into the school, I see the door to the front office, so I may my way up to it. When I open the door there is a grey-haired, old lady greeting me.

"May I help you with something?"

"Hi, I'm the new student here. My name is Taissa Stevens."

I always try to act polite to strangers. Again, trying the whole "first good impression" thing on at least one person today.

"Ah, yes we've been expecting you. Here is your class schedule, and your homeroom is right down the hallway to the left. " She kindly smiles at me, and I walk away.

FIRST PERIOD

After the struggles of the first forty-five minutes of the day, I finally found my first period class.

The late bell had already rang, so I hope that won't lead to any severe consequences.

I walk into the room catching the class's eye as I shut the door.

"Who are you, and why are you late to my class?" A short bald man came out of a closet in the back of the room.

"My name is Taissa, and I'm super sorry about being late. It's my first day here, so I don't really have a grip on what I'm doing---"

"I SECOND THAT!" I hear a shout from the corner of the room.
I turn my head into the direction, and see the blonde kid I hit with the door earlier.

My face immediately heats up.

"You're not lying when you say you 'don't have a grip,'" he sends me a devilish wink.

"Well, Mr. Hemmings you always have something to say. " The teacher says, coming out of the closet, and up to me.

He's quite short for a man to be honest. I'm 5'8, but he's only around 5'6.

"I'm Mr. Gibson, your English teach. You can gladly take a seat next to Luke over there, while I take care of some emails. " he walks over to his desk to leave me confused.

"Umm, that's fine, but who is Luke?" I turn to him. His face gives me a look of frustration and annoyance, but people get set off by the simplest things.

"Me!" I shoot my head back to the boy whom Mr. Gibson referred to as Mr. Hemmings.

Slowly, I walk over next to Luke, who sits on the last seat of the front row. I can hear a couple of whispers behind me, but ignore the comments.

I sit down and he turns to me.

"Why hello there, girl who hit me in the face with a door," he said, resting his head on his fist while checking me out a few times.

"I told you I am sorry. I didn't know what I was doing," I defeatedly through my hands in the air showing my surrender.

"Yeah, and it was crap," his sassiness is really starting to get on my nerves.

"Well, I'm not gonna say it again, and I honestly couldn't care less about your opinion. "

He just shrugs me off and starts on the handout that was given to us.

Now, I'm left sitting here praying to God that lunch will come soon.

LUNCH

^*^*^*^

I find a random empty table and sit alone.

Looking around at the other people, I can pick out a couple of cliques.

You have the artists, the soccer players, the mythical creature fans, and lots more. Just a normal high-school I suppose.

I put on my headphones to block everything out. I turn on Taylor's song "Bad Blood" off of 1989. This album has become one of my all time favorites!

This brings me back to the thought of Ed's show. I could never pass up an opportunity like this, but I've never really performed in front of people before; let alone 40,000 people.

To be honest, I'm actually pretty excited. The concert is in two weeks and I can't wait. But before then, I should definitely practice Taylor's guitar part in that song.

I'm broken out of my thoughts as I feel a tap on my shoulder. Quickly, I remove my headphones and turn off the music to find a group of people standing behind me.

"You're in our spot," a tall blonde girl blandly speaks up. She's holding hands with someone...it's Luke.

He looks up at me and licks his bottom lip, but turns to face the blonde.

"Are you deaf!? I said MOVE!!!" She lets go of his hand and bends down to meet my face.

"Okay first of all, what is up with people accusing me of having mental issues, and second of all, I don't see a plaque on this table with your name on it, which I do not know. "

I'm just done with everyone treating me like scum today. Most of the time new kids become the most popular. What the heck is happening to me!?

"You're gonna regret not getting up from this table," she looks me dead in the eye as she speaks, then walks away with her posse and Luke.

Is 'what's her face' and Luke dating? I'm just gonna assume they are because they were holding hands. But, how does Luke deal with her, if he gets so annoyed with me?

She had artificial bleach-blonde hair, a ringy voice, and her boobs were so pushed up, they were about to pop out of her shirt...oh.

Yep, I hope that's it.

I just put my headphones back on, and turn on "Everything Has Changed". I'm suddenly really pumped for this performance. I just wanna get home and practice because it looks like music is gonna be my only friend here in New York.
