It'z You [𝟸𝚂𝙷𝙸𝙽/𝚁𝚈𝚄𝙽𝙰]

𝚍𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚘 𝚢𝚘𝚞 🌊 [final of dil]

I tapped my pen against the page. I've been rereading the same sentence for the past ten minutes and all because of one girl. I already saw the video that was posted. I silently groaned and faceplanted the table.

"Miss,"

I looked up and saw the librarian at the desk.

I gasped, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

What I thought was a noise complaint became a small post-it note in front of me with messy handwriting. She gave a small bow before leaving. My mouth couldn't close. I was in shock with what I was reading.

Hey Ryujin

Meet me at the public pool at 4 PM.

Shin Yuna

Now I really wanted to scream. I checked my watch, it was 3:46 PM. I bit my lip and started to pack my stuff. I knew this was coming but I didn't know this soon. Why didn't she just approach me here? I whipped my head in all directions, but she was nowhere in sight.

Dummy, with that video posted for the public to see, I'm sure Yuna doesn't want to be seen with me. I answered myself.

Nonetheless, I was determined to face her head-on.

...

I waited near the edge of the pool with the bottom half of my legs submerged in the lukewarm pool water. My head jolted up when I felt a presence enter. She was in a daze and that made me smile.

"Come over,"

She did and took a seat next to me after taking off her shoes and socks.

"That video-"

"About earlier-"

We both stopped and I let out a giggle. She just looked away with a smile naturally forming on her lips.

"Well, uh... where do I start, haha..." She scratched the back of her head.

"...Please forget about that video. I told my friends about you and they found it funny that I didn't know you before yesterday so they started to tease me and so I said that ihaveacrushonyou but I really don't so I tried to deny it but I was scaredofyourfans and-"

Yuna subconsciously stopped listening because Ryujin looked so beautiful with the pool water reflected in her eyes. I could swim in them forever.

I wasn't even aware that her face was inching closer and closer to me until I realized and my next move was something a clown would do. I jumped back, scared of what would happen if I let her lips clash onto mine.

I didn't know that by doing that, I'd be even more scared to death.

"Y-YUNA!"

She lost balance after I leaned away and next thing I know, I hear a loud splash.

...

I was bewildered as Yuna sunk lower and lower to the bottom. I jumped in and snaked my arms around her waist, pulling her up to surface. I hovered above her unconscious body and shut my eyes tightly. You're CPR certified, you got this... you got-

Before I could even save a life, I felt a pair of lips and a force pull me in. Yuna's lips were as soft as they looked... but she definitely could kiss. Yuna's arms around my neck and my palms on both sides of her head on the floor, we continued to kiss as if nothing mattered. I couldn't escape even if my prior words suggested otherwise.

I pulled away and stared at her in a daze. What... the heck was that?

She smirked, "So... what was that about 'a misunderstanding'?"

I rolled away and steadied my breath. Even I couldn't answer that. That was my first kiss. I told myself I wouldn't fall in love because love is nothing but a distraction from what I needed to prioritize... my mother.

She got closer but I stood up in a hurry to finish things before they even got too intense.

"This. Everything that you're doing to me. I can't do this, Yuna."

She seemed to realize that love for me wasn't as easy as it was to her. Her gazed softened and she stood up, nearly slipping on her own feet. I half caught her and avoided her gaze. I knew I was falling, but I'm Ryujin. If I could go without love for this long, I can continue to do so.

"Here, let's dry you up first."

"Do you want me to walk you back?"

Ryujin was silent as they left the swimming pool building. By the time they were outside, the sun was down and the sky was a beautiful lavender color.

Yuna opened her mouth, "Look, I'm sorry-"

"No, don't apologize. I'm sorry, Yuna. I admit, I do feel something, but the timing isn't right. My mom's sick, I'm barely taking care of myself and... and I can't trust you. I know you now, Yuna. You're not on my level, you're popular, liked by so many, rich, and you can do so much better-"

Ryujin didn't realize that as she was rambling, Yuna had stopped in her tracks. Once she did, she stopped and turned around.

Yuna took a chance and charged forward, as if nothing could stop her with what she was about to do. She took her in a warm hug and dug her face into the older girl's damp shoulders. She tilted her head slightly so that the tip of her nose could feel Ryujin's wet hair.

"I don't know what you're talking about. You're not them, and that enough makes me not wanna give them a chance."

She pulled away and stared deep into the older girl's quivering eyes,

"I know it's too soon. We've just met, but... no matter what you're going through, I wanna be by your side."

"Okay then... friends?" Ryujin shyly looked away as if Yuna's eyes would stop staring holes into her face.

"For now?" Yuna inched closer, teasing the older girl.

Ryujin rolled her eyes with a smile,

"For now. Potentially more, if you keep this up."

Yuna giggled and pecked her cheek. For the first time in a while, Ryujin felt her heart soar like she was a hopeless romantic.

aIGHT pls don't @me I know this was shorter than how long I usually write...

lowkey lost motivation and didn't know how to finish this cause I had too many ideas clashing and if I followed those ideas this "one-shot" would've dragged on like an ongoing fic oops- 🤠
