Long, blonde locks swayed side-to-side as Brooklyn began to make her way from the unsteady football turf and onto the steps of the graduation stage. Her cap and gown fit perfectly against her fit body as her smile lit up the entire stadium full of proud families, friends, and loved ones. On the sunniest day of the year in Florida, Brooklyn Irvine was accepting her high school diploma as cheers erupted when her name was announced.

"Yeah, Brooke!" a deep voice yelled: Cody.

"That's my baby!" a slightly higher-pitched, rocker voice exclaimed, next: her father, Chris 'Jericho'.

Then, there were whistles, most likely from Brandi, Jon, and Tyson. The wrestlers had surprised her by showing up to her graduation without informing her, causing her to glare, but never lose her smile. She was happy they were there, though wished Matt and Nick could have made it back for the group to all get together again—but it would have to wait. These people were her family, and have been since her mother passed away.

Her green eyes twinkled as she locked eyes with the curly-haired, awkward boy from Winnipeg. Tyson Smith had become one of her greatest friends since the two had met in Japan, during the time her father was wrestling there. He had a huge match with the one-winged angel in Wrestle Kingdom 12, and decided to allow his daughter to take a week off of school to visit the country she had been dying to see ever since she discovered the art of professional wrestling.

Tyson looked on with a smile on his face at the small girl, proud of her accomplishments this early in her life. Being her best friend, he knew that high school was not easy for her in the past year, especially after the death of her mother, Jessica. Brooklyn started struggling to keep her grades up and dealt with the cloud of depression always following her. He had witnessed it, always checking up on her and giving her calls whenever he could; not because he knew how hard of a time she was going through, but because he cared about her.

"Through thick and thin, Brooke, I'm here for you," he had told her back then.

"Thanks, grandpa," she had quickly responded, smirking. The two had a large age gap, yet could sometimes relate to one another like they were the same person. Because Brooke was never a girl who enjoyed the sorrowful looks or apologies, hearing anyone tell her any sorts of sentiments made her quickly avert the attention elsewhere. Besides, she loved teasing him about his age because it not only made him embarrassed, but reminded her that he was unobtainable for her to ever have a chance at anything but a friendship.

"I didn't realize that 'thick and thin' meant you would start calling me 'grandpa'," he had said back. Tyson chuckled at the memory as he watched the blonde accept her diploma and shake the hand of her principal, putting on a smile that he knew was fake. Brooklyn constantly complained about her principal—in fact, she got in trouble quite a lot at school and would have to confront him when she was caught. Always a troublemaker, Brooklyn Irvine was.
