"Next case please," the judge pronounced. "Uh, Randall Orton versus the state of Nevada," he read the sheet of paper in front of him.
Randy entered the courtroom with his ankles and wrists shackled together. He couldn't believe he was actually at his trial, for a crime he didn't commit. How stupid could these people be that they would even suspect he was capable of kidnap, and possible murder?
No, he couldn't think like that. Scarlett was not dead. There was still hope.
Randy blinked and shrugged off the thought. This was not the time to be pessimistic; he had to prove he was innocent. With the defense's star witness, Randy was sure the jury would see that he was innocent. Or rather, he prayed they would.
"Under the charge of kidnapping, how do you plead?" the judge questioned.
"Um, not guilty your honor," Randy gulped.
"The defense may call its first witness then," the judge proceeded.
"We would like to call Michael Mizanin to the stand, your honor," Randy's attorney announced.
Mike appeared through the courtroom doors. Led by the baliff, Mike was escorted to the witness stand. He sighed as he scanned the room. Every seat was full, which must have meant that Randy's trial had become public knowledge.
"Mr. Mizanin, uh, may I call you Mike?" the attorney approached him as Mike nodded. "Okay, well will you please start by telling the jury why you are here today?"
Mike turned his head and faced the twelve people sitting off to the side. "I'm here because the defendant has been falsely accused of committing a crime, and I can prove it."
The jury raised their eyebrows as they listened in.
"Why don't you tell us your story," the attorney gestured for Mike to continue.
"Well," Mike paused briefly. "About two months ago, my cell mate at the time started telling me about some elaborate plan to break out of prison. He explained to me that he had also been meeting with his girlfriend during his visiting hours, and the two had started talking about getting revenge on the victim in this case, Scarlett Sinclair. Months back, Scarlett had gotten him, as well as myself, arrested, so Chris wanted to get his revenge, so he was going to escape from prison and kidnap Scarlett with the help of his girlfriend, Barbara Blank," he pointed to her in the crowd. "It's all on tape, their phone sessions were recorded, I know that for a fact. All the police had to do was dig them up," he explained as the courtroom gasped in shock.
"So you're saying that, Chris Jericho, escaped from prison, and somehow managed to kidnap Scarlett in the same day of her abduction?"
Mike chuckled at the question. "Oh god no. He had some help with that."
"And who helped him?"
"Uh," Mike thought for a moment. "If I remember correctly, he said something about Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins," he locked eyes with Seth, who was sitting next to Barb. "But it was mostly Barb who coordinated this whole master plan. She was the one who helped Chris escape from prison, and she was one who hired those goons to abduct the victim, Scarlett Sinclair. The defendant, Randy Orton, had nothing to do with any of this. He's innocent, your honor."
"He's lying!" Barb screeched as she rose from her seat. "The son of bitch is a liar!" she ran up to the witness stand and slapped Mike.
"Security! Please restrain this woman and get her out of my courtroom!" the judge ordered.
Barb growled as the officers dragged her out of the courtroom after her outburst.
"Aw, don't be mad Barb. Your little master plan almost worked. Maybe if you hadn't been such a bitch to me in the past, I might have just kept it a secret," Mike taunted her as she grunted.
