So I had just finished eating my lunch at 1:30 PM. I then remembered I needed to go check up on my patient Emily to see how she was feeling. The hospital was trying out this new medicine on her called Zyolin. We started with low doses just to see how her body would react to the doses we were giving her . The medicine at first seemed like it was getting better but it was just making her symptoms worse. She was waking up to night terrors and cuts and bruises all over her body so we decided to give her a high dose to see if there were any signs of showing improvements. But no, she just kept getting worse until we sat her down with a therapist. Emily was only 4 years old when she was diagnosed with psychosis, a mental disorder that allows the patient to disconnect from reality. Kind of like when people astral project and they leave their body. It got bad when she started having sleep paralysis but Emily told us she was wide awake the whole time. When I first met Emily and her mother we all heard a little girl screaming bloody murder from the front lobby entrance. A nurse rushed over and we saw a young girl and her mother and the little girl was clawing on the walls while her mom was holding her tightly. She screamed please help my daughter. She's very ill and something is wrong. The little girl was crying and screaming petrified saying he's going to get me over and over. You could hear the fear in her voice and I asked her mom what was going on as we rushed her to an open room. She tells me that for the past few weeks Emily has been saying there's a man on my ceiling and he watches her at night but each night he gets closer and bigger across the ceiling. I would wake up to her screaming in the middle of the night and I'd burst in there to see her covered in blood and scratch marks all over her body. Her stomach had a word carved into it saying slit your throat or she's mine forever, Her mom shuttered and started to tear up and I had an uneasy feeling about it. We finally were able to sedate her. We let her rest and then we would ask her some questions. As I walked into Emily's room she was foaming at the mouth and I rushed over to her and a comprehensive medical evaluation was crucial. Finally as things started to calm down and she regained consciousness I asked how she was feeling. She asked what happened and I told her she had a seizure and she told me she had been dreaming again last night. I said the one where you keep seeing that dark figure I grabbed the chair near the door and sat down to listen to her. She told me that she was visited by someone or something that was both creepy and horrifying. She told me that it was a man with no description and he was all dark with a black smoke-like mist coming off of him. I then asked her what he wanted from you. Why was he visiting you? Emily then replied he was wanting to bring me back to where he comes from and he didn't tell me much other than that he likes me a lot. I asked her if he said anything else to her. Emily then said yeah he said that I was very special to him and he also said that he doesn't like you and that he is trying to protect me from you and every time I have this dream he gets closer and closer to me and he just stands there and mumbles something under his breath. I didn't want to say anything to her but when she told me this, goosebumps and chills ran down my spine when I heard this. I thought she just had an overactive imagination or possibly just had a bad dream. I then said to her well you're awake now and eat your breakfast and take your meds. She also mentioned that he's scary. He stands there and it feels like hours are going by. Emily, what does this figure look like? Emily told me that he doesn't have any facial features except for eyes that are purely dark and he has a skull-like face that's all black as well and all he does is stand there and stare at me. I told her that I'm sure he ain't that scary are you sure he's not just in your imagination. Emily said no I could see him plain as day and he was really tall and he kept saying something under his breath but I couldn't make it out. I'm sure it was nothing but you need to get some rest. We will go outside once you wake up. I closed the door and I thought I heard heavy breathing and footsteps coming from the other side of the door but then it went silent. I walked away and went and grabbed my lunchbox from the fridge in our breakroom and I called my husband and told him I was on my way home. He told me that he had a surprise for me and he told me to follow the trail and he then hung up the call. So I walked out to my car and got in and turned on Delilah 106.5 and drove home. I got out of my car and walked in through the front door I saw rose petals in a line and they lead into the kitchen and into our dining room where John was pouring wine into two glasses and there were candles lit on the table and homemade food was made on plates and my favorite song was playing on the radio and John walked up to me and kissed me on the lips and said, happy anniversary babe.We sat down for dinner and enjoyed the rest of the night talking and laughing and slow dancing then we cleaned up dinner and went to bed.
