Room 117

Chapter 4 The butchering

I fell onto a hard concrete floor and I awoke dazed and confused. I felt very light-headed and lethargic. I looked around the room to see where I was and all I could see was a source of light coming from another room. The room had countless of bodies hanging from the top of the ceiling from large meat hooks for pigs and there were these buckets right underneath the bodies collecting drops of blood I looked up and there was this body of a woman with blonde hair and her head was stuck in a position and she looked horrified and her eyes were a milky white color and she had these large hooks inserted into her shoulders on both sides of her body and I then looked down and her stomach was a little bit bloated and I then saw an umbilical cord connected to a full-grown baby floating in a bucket of blood I lost my breath for second and a couple of tears ran down my face and the room had gates surrounding the outer area of the room. The room also had one of those old elevators from the early 1900's the thing didn't even look like it was even still in order or even operational let alone being sturdy enough to support its own weight. The only source of light that I could see was coming from inside the other room. The room that I was in was dark and it smelled like rotting flesh and blood and I was in a smaller room that led into a bigger room. I saw a big table with what looked like a body sawed in half with a giant bloody saw blade in between each body part. I tried not to throw up but the smell was revolting and acrid. I then heard the sound of heavy footsteps and the sound of metal clanking together from inside the bigger room. I then looked behind me and a body was sitting in a chair with restraints on his wrists. The 2 large hooks were on a chain connected to the floor and the hooks were forcefully inserted into his legs on both sides of his body I instantly gasped and tried not to panic once I finally calmed down and regained my senses I looked at the guy and realized that he was alive I saw a lot of medical equipment surrounding him and there were Trocar needles inserted into both of his arms and they were hooked up to an Alyx machine and there was blood being drawn from his body on both sides of his arms. I tried asking him a question but he screamed and yelled kill me please. I told him it's ok, please calm down. I'm a doctor but he wouldn't stop screaming. I then heard loud footsteps rapidly approaching me. I could feel the floor shake and as I turned around there was this huge man standing in front of me. He was wearing a leather apron,black boots and was covered in blood. I was then backhanded in the head and I hit the floor really hard, almost splitting my head open knocking me unconscious. I remember seeing this huge shape standing above me then being picked up and carried into the other room as I passed out. I woke up with a splitting headache and I could still smell that gut-wrenching aroma of a thousand rotting corpses. I looked around and I was in a back room where there were body pieces hanging from the ceiling and I was very fatigued and my headache was spreading throughout my head causing the pain to keep increasing more and more over time. The huge man came stomping in and he handed me a pair of clothes and he told me to put them on. I said why are you going to do the same thing you did to that guy? He then looked at me and said no not today I looked at him with confusion and distrust and I said then why did you hit me in the head almost killing me he said I had to do what I had to do. I had to make it look real. What do you mean I asked? He then said if I didn't knock you out then he would've known something was up. I said ok but I still don't trust you no matter what you tell me. He said I know but hopefully, in a couple of minutes, you will. I put the clothes on as he was retrieving something from the pocket of his apron he then looked at me and said this might make you trust me he then handed me a small picture of a little girl it was really faded and worn out so it was hard to make out what the little girl looked like and with a really grouchy voice he said it's a picture of my daughter and he had a sad look on his face I asked him what's wrong and he told me under his breath that he is being forced to do this against his own will. I said what do you mean you're being forced to do this he then told me that the one named Azeroth brought me here and deformed me and turned me into this freak and he took my daughter away from me and said if I don't torture and kill these people and find the blood of the pure one then he'll kill my daughter. I asked him what is your daughter's name and he then said, Emily. Your joking right I said in a laughing sarcastic tone what makes you think I'm dumb enough to believe that out of everything you just told me you do know that your daughter is my patient right and he said I know that's why I'm saving you and not torturing you and cutting you up and draining your body of blood. I need your help Jennifer Emily's somewhere in this hospital probably scared to death right now thinking she'll never see daylight again. Please, I wouldn't be risking my daughter's life right now for you not to believe me. I said ok I will help you but I have a question for you sure what is it? What do you mean by pureblood? Emily's father said Azeroth plans on using the pure ones blood to become mortal and more human-like and possessing their body becoming one with each other but he's in control. he then brings patients from the real world and he brings them here he calls them his test subjects and everyday he gets more and more impatient and more aggressive over time. He brings them to me and I have to torture them and drain the blood out of there bodies just so I can save my daughter. You are one of his test subjects. There is a good thing about this situation Azeroth doesn't know that Emily has pure blood flowing inside of her body there is a some bad news though in this building Azeroth lurks in the shadows and he's in control of everything here and he can only in so many places at a time well what does that mean where are we what's this place called. We are in the shadows ward, and Mercy hospital in the boiler room is his domain and he controls it. It means that Azeroth can be in two places or more all at one time and if you can find Emily and get to the security offices and make sure to avoid him as much as possible then you can get her and you out of here before he notices that you're gone. I can stay here and buy you some time. Well, what happens if he does notice that we're gone and he finds out that we're trying to escape? Well that's just it you won't notice well not until it's over at least. If he does find you he'll start playing mind games on you as well as torturing you and scaring you and start producing hallucinations on you making you see everything that you fear until he feels satisfied and once he's done you'll be in a never-ending nightmare stuck in a state of paralysis or schizophrenia it's whatever he chooses. Alright, tell me how to get back onto the first floor. Emily's father handed me a Key and said I'm sure you know how to use this? Yes, of course, I do well then all you have to do is take this elevator up and you'll be good to go. He came over to me and said I can't lose my daughter. She means the world to me and I don't know what I'd do without her. I told him that I wouldn't let him down. I then walked over to the elevator and I looked at the man sitting in the chair chained up. I then asked him what his name was and the man told me that his name was Nathaniel. I asked him how he got here and Nathaniel told me that the only thing that he could remember is that he was at work and his dad called him saying that he was in need of a kidney transplant and so he offered him his kidney and when he went in for surgery the doctor looked very weird he didn't say anything to him and the doctor's hands looked very odd and misshaped. Then the doctor put the surgical mask over Nathaniel's face and the doctor then put him under and he woke up here. I asked him how long he has been down here and he said maybe a week or 2 honestly I really don't know. I then asked Nathaniel what Azeroth wanted from him and he told me he has been having the butcher torture me for days now and I looked at his body and there were these curved like marks all over his body. They looked similar to the one on my neck. I then asked Nathaniel if there was a way to get out of this place and he told me that there's a key that you have to get from that table and then once you obtain the key you can take the elevator back up to any floor you need. I told him that I was gonna try and get him out of here as well Nathaniel said why you just met me and also I don't think I'm going to make it out of here alive so why are you willing to risk your life to save mine I told him I don't know but something about you seems very familiar an comforting and reassuring kinda like we've known each other for a long time. Well, that's impossible. I've never met you and I've never seen you before. I've been married for two years and now I'll never be able to see my wife again. Maybe we knew each other in a different life or something like that. I said yeah maybe. I told him hey you're gonna make it out of here alive. Nathaniel said how I'm stuck here and even if I did get off these huge hooks I'd still die within a matter of minutes from blood loss. You should know that you're a doctor aren't you? I said yes he slowly started to close his eyes and as I was entering the elevator I heard the heart monitor flatline. My heart shattered as I walked up to him and I said I'm sorry that I couldn't get you out of here alive as I promised. I suddenly got this feeling in my stomach it was a feeling of guilt and sadness as I walked back over to the elevator and inserted the key into the lock and slid open the gate a single tear started running down my face as I got into the elevator and slammed the rusty gate closed and flipped the switch to the first floor I wiped the tears off of my face and stood there frozen thinking about everything that has happened in this past couple of hours. The rest of the ride up I thought about how nice and kind Nathaniel was even though we just met. A lot went through my head on the ride up and the only thing that I couldn't get off my mind was what is this place and how much pain and agony had soaked up into these walls and into the stone of the foundation. So many emotions and feelings all happening at once in the same place if you close your eyes you can almost hear their crying and screams echoing off the vain walls. And how much fear has come in and out of this building time and time again it gets to you but I knew what had to be done aside from my problems. I needed to focus on finding Emily and make sure that Azeroth doesn't get a hold of her no matter what the cost is, not even if he kills me and I die and rot here for eternity stuck in a never ending loop.
