Vangeance's quarters were about as royal and luxurious as one would expect. Coated in shining white marble and exquisite red cloth you could assume it would've been a very costly room to make alone.

At the end stretched out a wide balcony, gazing out onto a dazzling waterfall. It's as if the area was designed specifically for date nights.

And standing at the end of the balcony was none other than Captain Vangeance himself, dressed in his normal attire accompanied by his mask.

"So you came." He begun. "I wasn't sure if Yami would've passed on my message. However, it seems there was no reason to worry."

Asta, Noelle stood to attention whilst Zora stayed in a normal, relaxed position.

"There's no need to be so formal. I called you here to apologise, after all." The two suddenly relaxed their bodies.

Vangeance begun. "As you have probably been told by now, in the recent attack on the kingdom by the elves I had been secretly sharing my body with Patry, who had been posing as Licht, the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun."

"And then I made the terrible decision of having Patry and Julius fighting, resulting in the 'death' of the Wizard King, and thus led to the elves attack."

Vangeance stopped to take a breath. "I..."

Then, he took off his mask, revealing his short, spiky white hair alongside the scar that covered a large portion of his face.

"I'm truly sorry for what I've done. To you and the Clover Kingdom."

The three were suddenly awestruck by William's true appearance. It was somewhat majestic, but also shrouded in mystery.

"You're still worrying about that...?" Asta begun. "It's not like it was all bad; we were able to grow and become stronger from this!"

"You make it sound like you're done training. You better not be slacking off, Mr.Wanted." Zora replied.

Vangeance smiled slightly. "I suppose you have a point. But at least allow me to give you something as a token of my gratitude." He took out a few small boxes from the side.

"You're all preparing to fight the devils, correct? Then allow me to give you some magic items to help you."

"First, Zora Ideale." He opened the first box, containing a glistening golden quill. "A phoenix quill designed to make magic circles easier to draw."

"Then, Noelle Silva." He opened the second box, containing a shining sapphire necklace. "A necklace made from the sapphires in the ocean depths. It serves as a control to allow your mana to flow like water."

"Finally, Asta." He opened the third and final box, containing an ominous onyx pendant shaped like a heart. "It was hard deciding what to get you, since magic items wouldn't help, so instead I decided to pass this family pendant down to you."

Asta looked surprised. "Huh? Are you sure? Isn't that really important to you?"

"Not anymore." He replied. "I think it's best suited for the one most worthy of being the Wizard King."

"R-Really!?"

Vangeance nodded.

"Woahhh!!!"

Noelle flipped her hair and smirked. "Don't get too cocky."
"That'd pendant is shaped like a h-heart...does that mean..Captain Vangeance swings that way!? So cute! N-Not that I care though!"

"She's right." Zora added. "Celebrate too early and that pretty boy will sweep the rug from right under you in no time."

"Hmph, like I'd lose to Yuno!"

It was now dark outside, and the three had finally made it back to their own base.

"Finally..." Noelle groaned. "Why couldn't Finral just take us back!?"

"My legs are so tired..." Asta had to lean against a log.

Zora yawned but just kept on walking. "I'm gonna go on ahead...see ya." He eventually vanished from sight.

"Great...now we're alone..." Thought Noelle.
"Wait. We're alone!? C-Crap..what should I say!?-"

"Noelle." Asta begun, his voice sounded more serious than usual. "You've seem to be avoiding me a lot recently..and whenever we do talk you always seem annoyed at me.."

He sighed, not looking at her. "Did I..do something wrong? Am I just getting in the way again?"

"N-No-" Noelle tried to speak, but nothing came out. What was this sudden change in Asta?

"...Sorry..." Asta said, before walking off alone.
