Not Alone

I walked into the class. I was the first one. I only got here early, because Jonah is always the first person here and I wanted to see him.

After about two second, Jonah walked in. He came over and gave me a hug. I hugged him back as Mr. Lane walked in.

"Morning." Mr. Lane said.

"Good morning." Jonah replied as we sat next to each other.

Then everybody started coming in then the bell rang. Mr. Lane took attendance. Everybody went to their groups. Jonah, Corbyn, Daniel Jack and I sat together then Adi, Cenna, Nick and Jojo sat together. Louis, Liam, Harry, Niall and Zayn sat together.

I noticed that Alexis wasn't here as I went to throw away my gum. Jojo and his table were talking about it. Niall and his table was talking about it.

"Hey. Where is Alexis?" Mr. Lane said. "I heard y'all talking about the incident? Is she ok?"

"She's fine. We walked her to school and to her locker. She said she had to go to the bathroom." Nick said and we all started to get worried again.

Alexis busted through the door with the principal, Mrs. Lane, married to Mr. Lane, behind her. We all went silent as they walked in. Alexis sat at a random desk in the back row.

"I caught Alexis and Makayla in a fight in the bathroom. Care to explain, Alexis?" Mrs. Lane asked.

"She started it." Alexis said. "She started talking about how my parents aren't around, because they hate me and all sorts of dumb stuff. I told her to shut up. She grabbed my hair and pulled me back. I punched her then we kept going."

"She had a bloody nose and a busted lip, Alexis. You just have a busted lip." Mrs. Lane said. "You have detention after school."

"But-" Alexis started.

"No buts." Mrs. Lane said.

"Wait." Mr. Lane said.

"What?" Mrs. Lane asked as she faced her husband.

"Alexis is a great kid, but she did get in a fight, I know, but she was protecting herself." Mr. Lane said and he smiled. "That's what I taught them. If someone hits you, hit back."

"Well no after school detention, but you have to at least pretend like you thought about what you did." Mrs. Lane said then planted a kiss on Mr. Lane's lips.

"No!" We all yelled. They laughed at us. "Gross!"

"Oh be quiet." Mr. Lane said and Mrs. Lane left.

"Did she cry?" Liam asked as he smiled at Alexis.

"Yeah. A little tear." Alexis answered and smiled.

Nick and Cenna grabbed Alexis, making her stand up. They looked her all over and they cleaned up her little bit of blood.

"Will you both not?" Alexis asked, laughing a little at them.

"We are your dads." Nick said.

"We protect you." Cenna said as they threw away the bloody tissue. We all started laughing.

"Whatever." Alexis said. "It can't be as bad as last night."

We laughed a little at that. I looked at Jonah, but he was silent and looked sad. He saw me looking at him and smiled. I smiled back.

He couldn't of hurt her. Did he lie to me? Was he jealous? I didn't know Jonah was capable of doing that...
