Not Alone

I was really hoping that Alexis would fall for me. I thought that Zach would be out of the way, but he now is no longer with Jonah. In fact, Jonah is out of the picture.

I spent the night at Alexis', but I stayed in the guest room and I didn't get any sleep, because of all these thoughts in my head.

I looked at the clock and it was 7 in the morning. I got up and for dressed. I walked into Alexis' room and she wasn't there. I ran down the stairs to see Nick and Cenna there with muffins and Alexis. I sat down next to Alexis on the couch and ate a muffin.

"Have a good night sleep?" Nick asked with a mouthful of muffin.

"No." I said.

"Why? You ok?" Alexis asked.

"I'm fine. Just thinking about stuff." I answered.

"Same." Alexis said. "I was going to go to your room, but I figured you were asleep."

"You should've. It was quiet." I said.

"Yeah." Alexis said with a smile.

"We have fifteen minutes til the bell rings and it's a ten minutes walk so come on." Cenna said, we all got up and walked to school.

"Do you think Jonah actually went to jail?" Alexis asked.

"Maybe." Cenna said.

"But he definitely isn't coming to school anytime soon." Nick said.

"If he isn't in juvvy then he is probably too scared to come back to school and see any of us." I said.

"Oh." Alexis said.

I put my arm around her. She leaned into me. We walked into the school and go our lockers. My locker is next to Alexis' so I walked with her.

We got our stuff and walked into class with a nice silence. We both sat down and Nick and Cenna joined us after a few moments. Mr. Lane took attendance.

"I have an announcement." Mr. Lane said and it fell silent. "Due to COVID-19. We are shutting down the schools. I won't be able to see y'all until next year, hopefully. This is our last day at school and we want y'all to stay home. Stay away from each other."

"Do you actually except us to leave each other alone for the whole summer?" Daniel asked.

"No not really, but I have to say that to y'all." Mr. Lane said and we laughed. "We are only having class until lunch then y'all go home."

Alexis laid her head down on the desk and almost immediately fell asleep. I laughed.

"You want to wake her up?" Nick asked. "I don't."

"Me either." Cenna said.

"I'll carry her home if she doesn't wake up." I said.

I smiled as I looked at Alexis. Then I felt eyes on me. I looked around, but I saw no one.
