Within a week after that miraculous day in the history of Hotel de Lavi, some more miracles happened. Not as big though as the tornado skipping the hotel, but many little miracles each day.
The Saturday banquet which was supposed to be for the wedding, but was cancelled, became the banquet for all the guests. And when you have something like that for all the guests, or should we say for the new 'community' created by the common storm they all experienced, you expect a lot of love, caring and connecting. Indeed, a miracle.
Even Kay who had experienced many banquets in her work life in New York had said "This must be the most joyous banquet I've been to!"
The guests, whether paying or staying in for free, mingled together.
The guests, whether from town, out of town or even out of the country, mingled together.
The guests, whether kids, teen, adult or elderlies, mingled together.
The guests, whether rich or poor, working or non working, mingled together.
It was a joyous banquet that Mrs. Robinson said was "a foretaste of the Heavenly gathering that we'll have when Jesus returns."
Each of those staying in the hotel have given their time, effort and resources in helping to fixed back up the hotel.
Raul managed the construction of the part damaged by the fire, while other men helped in cleaning up the debris at the surroundings of the hotel.
The women took turns in preparing food, and in babysitting the little kids.
The teens found themselves helping in the community, helping the neighbors as they rebuild their homes. Aiden has even started a bible study among them.
One day, an anonymous huge donation was given to the hotel, as the outside watching world was given a glimpse of the wonderful happenings inside, thru the lens of Victor.
Victor found his own miracle. He was the privileged connection to the outside work since Telly strictly told her sales staff to never post anything on their social media, but she is ok with Victor getting into the limelight. And his Vlog has been getting more and more followings as he continue to cover the stories in this little miracle town.
Kay has found her little miracle as well. Emptiness used to be her mantra since Telly left. Day in, day out, it was the same. Like Groundhog Day. She needed to find a purpose, needed to find meaning. And that unexpected extended trip to the little town of Smyrna had filled her heart with so much joy, care and love for the people who are not even her family.
On another day, Mrs. Trudy received money from Japan to get supplies to help rebuild some of the homes of their neighbors. She didn't expect it. All she said was she wouldn't be able to proceed with her missions trip to Japan. And those Christian brethren in Japan didn't think twice to send help thru her. The community appreciated it so much!
And then, Lisa told her another miracle. So many old time and new time clients had been trying to book rooms with her. And they were willing to wait when the hotel reopens. The past bad publicity they got from the fire and maybe promoted by Diane has been overturned! They are getting back the true reputation of her beloved hotel. Telly's dad would be so happy about this.
Mrs. Robinson found her own miracle as she read Shelly's letter. "Hi Mrs. Robinson! I heard about what happened to the hotel and I would have wanted to be there but I found a new job, it's more permanent. You guys are doing a good job! You don't know how you have made the town of Smyrna popular and we'll respected! Thank you! So proud of y'all! And I just want to message you to thank you for how you've been instrumental in my life. You're a light in this dark world and you definitely have lighted my path. Like you said you've been through a lot and it was only God's sustaining grace and love that keeps you going on. You make me to want that kind of life. Who knows? If things don't go well in my new job, I may find myself back there again. Please send my thanks to Ms. Telly! Am sure she's going thru a lot and she may not even remember me, but just tell her to thank you for giving me this precious opportunity to work in her hotel, without which I would not have met these wonderful people and would not have found a different perspective in life. Love, Shelley."
