His guitar!
Telly stood up excited, eyes widened, as she covered her mouth with her hands. She can't believe she's gonna have a jamming' session with him, just like old times!
"Your voice, I liked your voice," he sweetly said, giving her that sideways stare as he positioned himself ready to play the guitar.
Oh that stare almost melted her! How could it be that a few weeks ago, she didn't feel anything for him, and now, it seemed liked he was successful in breaking down the walls she built around her. No boys. No dates. No pain.
"No way!" she replied, sheepishly. "I've not really sung in a while, only in the bathroom!" She laughed.
"Now's the time then. Let's jam," he simply said and started to strum the guitar. The shy Aiden suddenly turned into a rock star, or a country star for that matter. He closed his eyes, feeling every string and notes that he hits.
And just like that, Telly was transported back to her teen world, when life was not complicated, was fun and so carefree! They played some songs they jammed before, like the ones from the 80's, to some country classics, even to newest praise and worship songs. They were having a blast to say the least. It's like all the office issues had been thrown out of the window for the meantime.
Aiden was having the time of his life too! He had been daydreaming about this for a long time. He felt like he was in a fantasy world and don't want to snap out of it. Who would want to? Her voice was so soothing, like an R&B singer.
He clearly remember deeply falling for her when she sang "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain. She loved Shania that year. He was about 10, and she was 15. She was singing that and wanting him to perfect the strumming of the song as she belted it out and sung it over and over again.
"Remember when you got saved?" he interrupted her thoughts. "You sang Amazing Grace at church for almost ten weeks!"
"Are you complaining?" she asked with furrowed brows. "That was a great song!"
"Nope, not complaining," he replied laughing.
"Do you remember when you made this song for Lorie?" It was her turn this time on the trip down memory lane. "Remember you practiced and practiced, and when valentines came, I asked you if you sang it to her. And you ran away! Found out days after that you closed up like a clam in front of her!"
"Don't remind me anymore," he protested. "Do you remember the creek where we used go?" Aiden asked.
It used to be that they would only hang out on Mondays after school, but since they found their common interest, they would hang out more frequently just singing the blues away, by the creek near her house, which was converted to a residential community now. Just laughing at school problems and peer issues. Music was their communication.
She nodded her head reminiscing, "those were the good 'ole times!"
"I used to go there until they converted it into a subdivision," he revealed.
"Really, who you jam with?"
"Nobody," he shrugged his shoulders. "I was hoping you'd stop by."
Oh, cut her to the core! 'Wow, he really liked me' she thought, giving her tummy a somersault. A sweet somersault.
"You know what I remember about you?" she asked.
His eyes moved from the guitar to her, and fixed his gaze on her. "My sexy body?" he replied so comically, even shaking his booty.
"No, sir!" she protested. "Did you remember how thin you were?" She laughed teasing him.
"My charm then?" he tried again giving her this mischievous look.
