"Get them before they can get away!"

"Don't let them escape!"

The sound of gas seeping into the air could be heard across The Underground city. Anna and Isabel soared swiftly through the air as their pursuers worked to gain ground. The girls found it amusing watching the military police in their fruitless chase. For people who were meant to be at the top of their class, it was almost an embarrassment that they couldn't catch a group of thugs that were self-taught.

Anna turned to peer over her shoulder, watching as they rapidly fell away from the pair. A smile teased her lips, knowing that they escaped yet again.

"They just keep on trying, don't they?" Anna sighed in slight annoyance.

"Gotta give them credit for dedication but it's pointless. They'll never catch us," Isabel smirked. She had grown used to these chases and gained a lot of amusement from them; it was like a game of cat and mouse.

"They're going to hurt themselves one day if they don't give this up." After looking back and seeing that they had lost the Military Police that had been on their tail, they started to make their way to base.

"Only you would be concerned for their safety Anna," Isabel laughed as the landed in front of the house, "There's no need to take those idiots seriously. They won't risk damaging a hair on their precious heads." Anna let out a giggle at Isabel's attitude.

"You have a point." In the past year, Anna had been chased by the MP on a few occasions, and not once had they done anything of risk to catch the group that may have been the most well-known gang in The Underground. "Do you think they'll find us?"

"I don't think so," she responded cockily. Anna frowned and nodded, unsure if what her friend said was really true. The two walked into the house and grabbed some water before sitting down. The chase, though fun, was tiring. It was also irritating, as they had come back empty handed as a result.

"What happened to you two?" Furlan asked confused. It was rare to come back with nothing, but the two girls had very little choice in the matter.

"Someone tipped off the MP and they ambushed us. They came after us before we could get a thing," Anna calmly explained. "We lost them quickly though, so they don't know where we are."

"Tch, those merchant dogs," Levi muttered as he stood from his place on the bench.

"Not only are they raising prices, but now they're tipping us off to the Military Police?" Furlan complained with a groan, "Things are getting desperate." Anna felt anxiety flutter in her chest, knowing just how grim things in The Underground were becoming.

"Such a pain. Furlan, Isabel, come with me to get what we needed. Anna, you stay here and keep watch. Make sure no one followed you here, got it?"

"Got it." Furlan and Isabel followed Levi outside, leaving Anna alone in the room.

She sighed, placing her chin on the wooden table. She closed her eyes, worried about the future to come. Ever since that night, no more memories of the past had surfaced. It was a big relief to everyone that she hadn't had another episode, and Anna was more rested than she had been since her early time in the worn-down building.

Anna shook herself from her trance, a certain sound catching her ears; the sound of gas dispersing was in the air. Jumping from her seat, she ran outside and frantically searched for the source of the sound. It was approaching rapidly, and her nerves were on end. She stood patiently, waiting for it to reach her line of sight.

Within the blink of an eye, her friends flew past the house. Anna didn't hesitate to get her controllers out and speed off to catch them.

"Furlan, what's going on?" She asked as she caught up to him. His eyes widened in surprise, having not noticed her approach, but his expression quickly turned serious.
