Jungkook pov:

I pause and look around before I hit the green connect button to place the call. I feel as Tae holds me even tighter. He places a kiss on my ear and whispers.

"Kookie you don't have to do this right now, if you don't want to."

I smile as I look him in the eyes. I kiss him full on the lips not rushed not rough just us there in that moment.

"Thank you love for trying to give me that way out, but I really need to do this. I need to know if my fears are valid or not."

I look around one more time and catch the gaze of every one of my friends, well my newfound family really. I hold my mates gaze last just breathing together. When I break eye contact it is to look at my phone and press the green connect button. I turn the phone onto speaker as it starts to ring.

"Hello? Kookie is that you?"

"Hi mom, its actually me, Tae, and some friends of ours, we have gotten close to. I will be introducing you when you come to visit."

"Oh, Hello everyone. Hi Tae. You guys have to call me more often it's so lonely out here."

"Oh, so dad is not there, he's away right now?"

"Yes, he was here, but he left yesterday. He will be back in a few months. I did tell him the good news, but he said he didn't have time to call because he had to get ready to head out. So how are you guys doing? Who do you need to introduce me too?"

"Just a second mom. Let me turn on my camera I want to see you and then I can introduce you. Oh, just to warn you we're all sitting in a hot tub right now so swim trunks only."

"Ooh a hot tub. Sounds awesome Kookie. Why don't we just wait to turn on the cameras then since you guys are half naked."

I am taken aback a bit. She usually could care less what we're wearing Tae and I talked to her in bed and we were completely naked under the covers. I look up at Tae to see is he is frowning with his eyes closed. It dawns on me what he's thinking by the emotions he's projecting.

"Oh no mom its fine. If you can talk to Tae and me in bed you can talk to us all in the hot tub. Just a second."

I pull the phone away and turn on my camera and wait for her to do the same. I didn't realize I was holding my breath until I felt Tae's hand rub up and down my chest.

"There we go. Mom the camera is connected on this side, go ahead, and connect yours so I can introduce you to everyone and we can talk. We have so much to get caught up on."

"Ok Kookie give me a minute to connect."

I wait, as patiently as I can, until her camera turns on. When it comes into focus, she is not looking directly into the camera but off to the side like she is watching tv and her hair is covering half her face and neck.

"There you are mom! Hi, oh why can't I see your whole face? I'm only getting half of you mom. Move your camera around so I can see you please."

"Ah well Kookie I didn't want you to worry but I fell yesterday and hit my face and neck on the sink in the bathroom. It left a nasty bruise."

I watch as my mom raises her head and I feel my eyes fill with tears.

"Mom..."

I can't hold back the sob as I look at her bruised face and what is clearly a handprint on her neck.

"Mom, please tell me the truth. What happened?"

"No, Kookie don't worry about it. I told you, now let me meet your friends."
