"What were you doing outside? You know that it was going to rain yet you were outside. You know, if you get sick you are going to stay at the hospital, because I don't have any money to be up and down with you for medications and stuff." Mom chastised.
"Yeah, yeah, I know, I know," I simply responded.
"Go and get your sister. She's supposed to be awake by now."
Sighing, I rather unwillingly got up to fetch Amanda. Just the thought of holding her quickened my steps, and I raced upstairs to mom's room. Pushing the door open, I found her sitting up in her crib staring out the window with her thumb in her mouth. Cute.
Sensing me, she turned and immediately shouted, "Evela, Evela." I smiled and welcomed her inviting hands into my own and cuddled her.
"Evela, wam humbry."
I chuckled. "No dear, its 'Elena' and yes I'm hungry too. Lets get you some boring baby food." Poor little thing didn't know whats called real food.
"Yayyy," Amanda gushed.
"Took you long enough to get her. She must be starving. Oh... and remember that you haven't taken up the clothes from the verandah line as yet. I told you to do that hours ago child."
At this point I rolled my eyes, while putting Amanda in her baby chair.
"You don't have to tell me again."
"Well do it so I don't have to repeat myself. If you do what you're supposed to, then I don't have to repeat myself."
Amanda was grimacing and threw a stringbean from my plate at mom. "Vu are so misewable mommy!"
"Well darling, tell your sister to do what she's told so that I can stop being miserable," mom said while pinching her cheeks.
Amanda swatted her hands away, giggling and said, "No!"
Smirking, I said, "That's my girl."
"Elena."
"Yes?." I did not look up.
"What day is two days from now?"
"Monday," I replied, still not looking.
"And what is special about Monday?"
Sighing, I looked at her with a raised eyebrow and blank face. "School."
"Good. So you know what you are supposed to do. I don't have to tell you."
No response.
"Make sure you pack your-"
"Umm," man I was getting annoyed. "I'm finished. Amanda is too so I'm going up now."
"Go to bed early. Tomorrow is Sunday School."
"Ok."

Running upstairs, I gathered my stuff and headed to the bathroom to shower. Looking at myself in the mirror, I observed my cheeks and arms. This year I plan to put on weight also. Sighing, I covered my head with my shower cap and started showering.***********
8:30 pmHmmm. Its eight thirty. Too early. What should I do now?
I didn't really talk to my friends much and I think it would be weird to just pop up in their inbox on Whatsapp. So that's out of my options. But..... maybe if they -
