"What the hell..."

"What are you doing here?" I turn around to see none other than Yujiro, I could feel her glaring at me and her eyes are almost raging. Her hands are strangely in her pockets and she's wearing her mask again, scarily strange.

"Nothing! I was just walking around, y'know." Dang, lying to people is hard when they're rushing to conclusions.

"I told you that you weren't supposed to be here!" I could almost feel her rage, although she looked more worried than angry, "You need to get out of here. Now."

"Ok, ok, I'll go. But let me just ask you, for what reason do I need to?" I was very sure I saw Yujiro almost jump at this question.

She sighed and for a split second I thought she was going to run of, but then she suddenly swiped her feet across mine and I tripped over and fell. My back hit against the pavement. I groaned and almost cussed at her.

I get up, swearing to god that I make her apologize for that, rubbing my hand against my head. I see Yujiro's back facing me as her wavy hair dances in the wind, her hands still in her pockets.

"Why did you do that?" I say in an angry tone, although I had a feeling that she wasn't the slightest bit shaken.

"Follow the pavement and go back to where you came from. I don't need someone wrecking my day." I know that voice from somewhere and a picture yet again flashes across my mind. A sadden girl staring at me, slowly she starts to fade away. The pain came flying through me right after she disappeared.

Pissed, I tried to grab her arm. Strangely, it felt dead cold, like touching a corpse. A few seconds later, my hand slipped right through her. I tripped over my foot as I landed on the grass, face first.

Wait, what just happened?  I turned around, scared of what I thought was an illusion, and tried reaching for her again.

I fell on the ground yet again.

I stood up and tried to gather my thoughts, trying my very best not to shout and run away. I looked down at Yujiro her mask dropped a little but suddenly she grabbed my hand. Shameless, she waved my hand right through her. It passed right through. Again and again, she did it until her hand started to shake and she couldn't hold onto mine anymore, her hand slipped right through mine.

Both my head and jaw fell from my head. Water seemed to drip from her mask, followed almost silent whimpers. She took of her mask to reveal something that would haunt me for almost forever.

Her face started to fade away, just like the girl in that picture.

"I-I'm s-sor-ry." She said as black then blanketed my consciousness.

Yujiro...?

Tears fill my eyes, but I don't know why. I'm dead, I don't feel emotions anymore. I have to erase his memories of what just happened, I can't let anyone know. Only he can see me, why? Everyone else just sees nothing, if he tries to make me go to the house he's either going to find out or Aniki is going to lose his mind when he tells him.

It's been what, like 12 years? I was lucky enough to be given a second chance by the oak tree spirit, no wonder I met him there. Although, it came at a price. Anyone I met would forget about me and if anyone were to remember me, I would disappear, forever this time. Every little hint I dropped he could never pick up, he has to stop coming back to the forest, the more time he spends with me, the less time I have.

Aniki visits my 'grave' almost everyday, he never tells anyone about the bentos he brings me. My teaching really paid of, it doesn't taste like burnt eggs anymore. I laugh everytime he tries to remember my name, he doesn't have short term memory, I guess he just wants to think that I'm still alive. Well, technically I'm not, but I still exist thanks to the tree.

The pictures Mide sees are our past memories we've made since I died, I had to erase them from his memories, they're doing more harm than good.

Mide looks so funny when he sleeps, peaceful though. I carry him on my back and walk towards the direction of his grandparents' house. I throw him through his room's open window and try to climb in. I tuck him in his futon and leave, another tear slips out. I really want him to remember me, but I know the consequences if he does.

I make my way back to the forest, passing by the oak tree spirit's 'body' as I sit down at its roots. The rain starts to pour and so does my eyes. The animals begin to hide away as the drops hit the ground. I look down at my fading hands and bury my face in them.

There's no turning back now.
