2012 TMNT Within The Woods (including a new character)

Story time

No one's p.o.v

"I'll never forget the night we left New York City.... the Kraang defeated us, Leo and Louisa got badly hurt, Master Splinter is.. gone. We lost - we had no where left to go, so we came to the old farmhouse I grew up in, miles away from the city, a place we could all be safe in. The first thing we did was take care of poor Leonardo... Raphael and Louisa keep a constant vigil over Leo. Just waiting for him to wake up... Michelangelo goofs around a lot, but he does a ton of chores around the house. But mostly he goofs around a lot, Donatello built a lab with the help of Baxter in the barn."

"Since Louisa healed Leo a lot, they're just trying to help with his leg for whenever he wakes up, not to mention Baxter convinced Donnie to try and make retro-mutagen. And then there's me, April O'Neil, I spend most of my time training with the turtles and writing in my ever expanding journal. I miss New York, my sensei, my dad, hopefully Leo will recover and we can all go home soon. If there's even a home to get back to - but life, as Master Splinter would say, must continue on."

Louisa's p.o.v

I sigh as we all get called to go start training, free-for-all too, Raph never goes easy on me, even though we all know my arm is just getting used to being used. As everyone was fighting someone else, I notice Casey just standing there, waiting. Couldn't stop the smirk from growing on my face as I skate to behind him and take him down easily. "You shouldn't have tried to stay out here if you weren't prepared for the fight!" I say and laugh a bit. "Then you might wanna duck" Casey groans out a warning, so I look up to see Donnie with his bo staff.

He did his war cry, so I duck and kick his side, making him scream, but he was still balanced as we had our weapons in front of us. I push him back with my kunais and yell "sure you can!" As I uppercut him, which made him fall. "Woah" Casey says, but Donnie yells "that wasn't fair!" I raise an eye-ridge at my crush. "Oh yes, the girl who just used her once broken arm right after it healed just wasn't all that fair." Donnie growls and tackles me, I scream as we roll around fighting "okay you two, enough!" April yells at us.

We stop and get up as we look at her "you guys are acting like a bunch of caged animals" I laugh a little as I look at her "just blowin off some steam, Ape." Donnie answers with "yeah, things are just a little tense lately, right Louisa?" Then he gets me in a small choke hold. I smirk and say "got that right, Don" and I elbow his plastron hard "ow!" Donnie says and lets me go. Chuckling I see him glaring at me "eep" I say and start running while laughing as I run from him. Raph put me behind him as he says "we're all just a little frustrated April, no offense, but we're turtles."

I get his hand off of me as he continues to act like a human shield for me "we don't belong in a farmhouse, we belong in the sewers." Furrowing my eye-ridges I say "okay, not entirely accurate, but..." "apropos" Donnie finished for me. Mikey then says "yeah, that's all good, but like Master Splinter would say 'we must accept the hand, that the universe has dealt us.'" I smile softly at that, but it doesn't work for Raph like it did for me and Casey "wow, that's deep yo." "Master Splinter's gone, Mikey, and Leo may never wake up, the universe dealt us a terrible hand."

Raph starts walking in the house, but my tears start trying to come back "wait, where's Baxter??" Casey asks confused. I sigh and say "p-probably in the lab" "Louisa, are you okay?" Donnie asks as I take off my mask. Looking at it in my hands I sigh and just leave it on the ground "you all know where I'll be." With that I finally go into the bathroom where we set Leo in the tub, Raph looked over his shoulder at me. "Wonderin when you'd show up" Raph says and gets more comfortable on the stool he's on.

I side smile and sit on the floor, leaning against the wall as I say "well, someone had to make sure you won't go crazy as you sit here." Raph chuckles as we continue to look at Leo, but memories about that night come back to me. I couldn't stop the tears as they come "y-ya know Raph... you're right" I say as I wipe my tears. He looks at me and his eyes widen a bit "about what??" He asks, so I don't take my eyes off of Leo. "The universe dealt us a terrible hand.... but it's okay, because we just got to learn to work with what we got."

Raph glares at me now "and what's that?? A knocked out leader, people actin like caged animals, and two people who barely eat." I look up at him saying "also a team full of hope, that are all okay, just waiting for their leader. The leader who knows how to give everyone hope once again, because Leo is the best there is. You wanna know something??" Raph wipes at his beak saying "what?" The thought of that night made more tears come. "H-He.... that night we were fighting Shredder.... Shredder fought dirty, he went to attack me from behind."

Raph growled at me and asked "what?!" I sigh and nod "yeah, Leo noticed him though.... he took the hit for me" I explain and choke a bit on my tears. "That's why I'm always in here, I just feel so bad that he had to take the hit for me, I feel so stupid. I'm one of the strongest on this team, I couldn't even manage to hear him come close. I couldn't.... stop this from happening" I say as I cry into my hands "I'm the one who should be out. Leo is so much better and he should be able to be awake as you guys wait for me to wake up."
