FINDING MY TRUE SELF

Our graduation is in two days time. Mum had followed me to my tailor yesterday to collect my dress. It was so beautiful.

We also got shoes and other accessories. As much as I don't see this grad as a big deal I am a little bit anxious about it. I was currently waiting for my mum. We were to pick out earrings I would use.
"Desire which one of the two do you like"mum asked bringing me out of my thoughts
I like this one ma" I replied while picking up a very beautiful pearl earring. Then we went on to talk about numerous things.

Graduation Day

Today is finally the day. The day I get out of junior school. I was anxious last night that I couldn't sleep. I eventually slept off around 3am. I had to wake up by 5am to pray fajr and then I drifted off to sleep. I woke up by 9:30am and the party was to start by 10am. I wasn't really worried because the party actually always starts by around 11am.
Nigerians and not sticking to time.
When I was done I went downstairs and ate breakfast. Mum and the twins were going to follow me. We got into the car and sped of to school.

At TRC
As I entered the school I was beyond shocked. Everywhere was decorated and our school hall was almost unrecognizable. Mum and the twins were settled in the hall already. I quickly went to meet my friends. Feyi and Tenu looked stunning in the dresses they wore.
Moments later we were called into the hall along with our seniors in ss3. Its been like four hours and the graduation party was more fun than I expected. There were cultural presentations, comedy skits, dramas, and of course series of prayers among others. And finally it was the time every one was waiting for; presentation of gifts. As the principal called out people from js1 and js2 I could see my classmates already getting inpatient. Finally it got to our turn and the principal began to call out names.
"The third overall best in this jss3 set of 2019/2020 is.... Clara Olushola"
Clara proudly went up the stage grinning widely as she collected her price.
"The second overall best is..... Teni Adeniyi"
I smiled proudly at Teni while she went to collect her prize. I was so happy for her.
"And the overall of this set goes to.... "
Desire Desire
People chanted my name
"Adenuga Desire Fatima' I went up the stage andcollecred my prize. I was happy when I saw the proud look on my mother's face. I went back to my seat.
The party ended after prizes were given to the ss3 students.I snapped a lot of pictures with my friends. It was time to go home and   I bid my friends good bye but not after promising each other we will see soon. I got into the car and we left.
When I got home I was exhausted. I ate then went to my room to freshen up. I landed on the bed and immediately I fell asleep.
