Warnings: wanting to be dead, self harm.

Virgil was starving. And cold. So, so cold. Why was it so dark? What happened? Oh, yeah. The cliff. He was either dead, which would be brilliant, or, he was back in the light sides palace, which would be horrible. He really didn't want to open his eyes.
"Virgil, please! We need you to wake up!" A voice urged.
"Get more bandages. And pillows. And soft things in general!" Another voice said. Logan and Roman. It had to be. He wasn't dead. Sad. "Virgil?" The voice said softly. Virgil felt a tear slip down his cheek. Why wasn't he dead!?
"Virgil? Are you awake?" The first voice said. Probably Roman.
"Please, Virgil? We miss you." The second voice said. Virgil opened his eyes. No one ever missed him, or was remotely nice to him.
"Virgil?" Voice one said cautiously. A figure put a hand on his shoulder. Virgil acted on instinct. He pushed the side away and fell straight on the floor. He didn't care if they saw him like this, he was going to get hit either way. The other two sides looked shocked and confused. They looked at their broken friend on the floor, crying. Especially just from a touch.
"Get him the blankets and pillows." Voice two, probably Logan, said. Virgil felt many soft things fall on top of him. It made him feel safe. It surprised him, because he had never told the light sides this. "It's okay." Voice two reassured. "We won't hurt.you. We've never hurt you." Finally, Virgil looked up. But it wasn't Roman or Logan there.

"Remus?" Virgil said uncertainly. "D- Dee?"

"Hey, yeah, it us." Remus said.

"Wh- whats happening? W- why am I here?" Virgil asked,

"We saw you running, and followed you. You fell in to the ditch, and we couldn't just leave you there to die." Remus mumbled. Virgil was confused to say the least. Why would anyone not want him to die?

"What happened? Why were you running?" Deceit asked. "Did they do something?" Virgil didn't want them to worry.

"U- um no,.." He said.

"Okay. Why did you run?" Remus asked.

"I- I don't want to talk about it." Virgil said. Deceit and Remus nodded.

"of course." Remus said. "Lets go to bed. Its 1:00 am already." Deceit said. "Virgil, you'll sleep in my room-"

"No! I- I'll sleep on the couch." Virgil cut Deceit off. He really didn't want to be a burden.

"Are you sure?" Deceit asked. Virgil nodded.

"Of course." Virgil said. He was not letting himself take up a bed.

"Okay." Deceit said uncertainly, guiding Remus up the stairs. Virgil was awake the whole night.

It was the next day. Virgil was getting off the couch, having the effect that he had slept the entire night.

"Yo, Hyacinth!" Remus called. Virgil smiled. He hadn't heard that nickname in years.

"Yeah, Alyssum?" Virgil answered, turning around to see Remus.

"We have pancakes. Like, with strawberries." Remus said.

"Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay food!" Virgil said, smiling. Remus thought nothing of it. The sides sat down at the table.

"So, Virgil." Deceit asked. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you jump out off a window?"
"Umm," Virgil tensed. "Long story."
"We have time." Remus said, drinking his waffles.

...

"Well, there was another argument," Virgil started. "And Roman was meaner than usual, said something, and so I jumped out of my window to get away from them."
"Why didn't you just go out the front door?" Deceit asked.
"Because," Virgil started. "I wasn't aloud to." He whispered.
"What?" Deceit asked.
"Because I wasn't aloud to." Virgil admitted before quickly shoveling an entire waffle in his mouth. Deceit and Remus stared at him for a minute.
"What do you mean you weren't aloud to?" Remus asked, stopping himself from drinking the rest of his waffles.

...

"It was a rule." Virgil said simply.
"A rule?" Remus asked.
"I wasn't aloud outside in case I came back to you, and look were that landed me." Virgil explained sarcastically, still trying to get the waffle to fit in his mouth.
"That's abuse." Remus said. Virgil looked up.
"Is it?" He asked. Deceit nodded. Silence. "Oh." Virgil then proceeded to shovel another wage I. His mouth so he didn't have to talk anymore.

Breakfast was over, and Virgil was in the bathroom silently crying. Why had he made them worry!? He was such a bad side. He got out a razor from the cupboard.
12 cuts in total were inflicted. Virgil found bandages, applied them like usual, put on his makeup to make him seem completely fine, cleaned up everything twice, and stepped out of the bathroom. Deceit and Remus didn't suspect a thing. Mainly because they were talking about Virgil's mental status and wanted him out of the room.

But they didn't know.
