DAWN'S POV:

It's been a year since I left and I have to say I've been proud of myself. I have been able to recover from the pain of my past. I was happy again and I'm willing to go back home. The thought of seeing him again was giving me goosebumps.

I avoided saying a word to him before because I couldn't find the right words. When I did, the words refused to come out but, I finally spoke to him today. I told Faye to tell him I'll be going back next week and it happens to be Ash's birthday as well. I know he probably thinks I have forgotten but, I haven't.

I just can't begin to imagine how he's reaction will be when he learns about the decision I have decided to make. Will he be Happy and accept it? Or will he refuse. I wasn't really going back next week. I was going back tomorrow but I don't want to see him just yet. My parents and everyone was aware of my arrival except Ash.

The flight home was long and stressful, I was so nervous I could barely sit still. Once the plane landed, I let out a breath before rushing into my parents arms who were waiting for me. I hugged mom and dad so tightly. God I've missed them

"I've missed you so much my princess" dad laughed

"Alright, let's get going before you two start crying" mom joked making us to laugh.

****** Next day ******

So, its been a few days since I've been back and I have to I'm a little nervous about bumping into Ash. I was currently having coffee with Faye and Zack.

"I still don't get why you don't want him to know about your arrival" Faye said dropping her cup

"Yeah why are you doing this? Ash has been through hell since you were away. He became gloomy and all. You needed to see how ecstatic he was when I told him you will be coming next week." Zack added

"I just need Sometime to myself" I explained

"I thought you going away would be enough time for you? How much time do......" Zack started but Faye quickly elbowed him at his side eyeing him to shut up. I just smiled weakly

"It's ok.... I just wanted some time to prep myself. I'll meet him on his birthday"

"I sure hope you don't plan on breaking.... " Faye hit him again before he could complete his sentence

"Don't mind him.....he's constipated" Faye laughed nervously.

"No I am not" they started bickering with each other and I just smiled.

ASH'S POV:

Since my encounter at my parents house, I've been doing a lot of thinking. I decided to chill in the house with Zack. We were both playing PS5 at the moment

"Yo man, why isn't charlie here yet?" I asked

"He's probably having those annoying moment with Kim" I chuckled

"You and Faye also have those annoying moments so why are you complaining?" I asked

"Nahhhhh....  Faye and I only fight all the time and then we make up." He grinned mischievously

"Thats still annoying" I chuckled

"Not as annoying as when you and Dawn were together" he countered

"That's not true, we were cool" I said defensively

"That's not what she was saying last night when we visited....." I immediately lost my attention on the game

"What do you mean last night?" I asked

"Oh! Um....when Faye and I were call....I mean skyping with her on the TV..... I mean telephone" he stuttered

"Zack, you and I know you can't lie to save your life. What's going on? What are you hiding?" The game long forgotten at this point

"Faye will kill me if I say anything" he muttered

"Come on tell me. I assure you I won't get you in trouble" he hesitated for awhile

"Actually, Dawn is back in the country." I looked at him confused

"What do you mean? You told me she'll be coming on my birthday. What are you on about now?"

"She actually came back a few days ago. She told Faye and I not to tell you anything. Please man, you can't let her know I told you. Faye will murder me and even murder my ghost" I sighed

"Why is she lying to me then? I thought she said we'll see each other when she comes back?" I asked

"I don't know but according to her, she said she still needs time to herself. I'm sorry man" he said patting me on the back. Few minutes later, he got a call and went home.

Why is this happening to me? So she has been back all this while and everyone has been lying to my face. There's only one reason I can think of right now. I think she has Finally decided to end everything between us. Deep down in my heart, I knew this might happen but, I never knew it'll hurt this much.

I feel so weak at the moment, like I barely have any breath in my lungs. I got up and went to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and let the cool water cascade down my body.

I guess this is how she must have felt on her birthday last year. The water poured down on my body for God knows how long because before I knew it, everything went blank. I opened my eyes to see Sabrina and my Mom looming over me.

"What happened?" I asked groggily

"I found you passed out in your bathroom floor when I came to see you last night" Sabrina explained

"Oh!" I muttered adjusting properly on the bed

"Oh? That's all you're going to say? Do you know how worried we were?" Mom yelled

"I'm not in the mood Mom" I said curtly

"You're never in the mood. Is this how you want to leave your life? Making us who care about you worried? I didn't raise you to be a pussycat. Be a man and start taking responsibility for your life" she stormed out angrily

"Brother... I don't mean to interfere in your life but, we love you very much so please understand how heartbreaking it is for us to see you like this" Sabrina concluded before going too.

I sighed as she closed the door behind her. What do I do now?
