~chapter one~

[ San ]

I'm the biggest drug lord in Korea. It's quite a big title but I'm least bothered.

My partners in crime, Mingi and Hongjoong, approach my room quite early on a Monday morning and I'm still not sober from all the drinks I had last night. I also have the most terrible headache.

Mingi knocks on my door and I tell him to enter.

" Boss, Hyunjin's here for his package ", Hongjoong says.

" Give it and tell him to leave. He has to pay for it by the end of the week ", San replies without giving Hongjoong a glance and continues to smoke his seventh cigarette for the day.

Mingi reaches into the cupboard, grabs a package and leaves with it. Once he's gone, Hongjoong walks closer to me and sighs.

" San, you're always drunk these days. Mingi and I are worried about you. Seonghwa keeps asking about you too. He's worried you'll go too far ", Hongjoong says with a pitiful expression all over his face.

" You don't have to care for me just because you're dating my brother. It's none of your business. Tell Seonghwa to stop worrying about me ", I shrug and lean back on my chair, letting my legs rest on top of the table.

" I'm sorry you think that way. I'll get going then. Take care of yourself ", Hongjoong sighs and leaves.

He's right. I'm going too far. My health's getting worse. Seonghwa always warned me this would happen if I chose this path. It's too late to change things anyway.

My brother was always too good to be true. He was a big real-estate businessman, the job he took after our father. He's always been the favourite child.

Ever since he started dating Hongjoong, I started hating my brother even more. I wonder how they even fell in love with each other.

Because of this, Hongjoong has always been advising me and keeps telling me to control myself. It's really annoying.

Anyways, as I said. It's too late to change things now. This is me. This is my life now.

[ Yeosang ]

Another tiring day of doing paper work. No new cases have been assigned to me yet.

I'm almost done with my last batch, when suddenly Jongho enters into my office in a rush.

" Woah, why are you in such a hurry? ", I question and he sits down opposite to me.

" There's a new case sir ", he says and my eyes light up. Finally, a new case.

" Tell me all about it ", I lean closer to him, ready to listen.

" Mr. Hwang's son is dead ", Jongho states and my mouth widens.

" His son is Hwang Hyunjin right? How did he die? ", I ask Jongho, who looks right into my eyes.

" Hyunjin died of a drug overdose ", he answers and I already know who's behind the drugs.

Choi San. I'm not letting go of you this time.
