chapter 5:

              •••Two weeks later•••

Sam's p.o.v

It's been about 2 weeks since me and my new best friend colby met. I also got to meet his best friend, jake. Him and jake were a lot alike and from the looks of it... Jake was Colby's only friend before he met me. I felt really bad for him. But now we all have a friend group. Me, colby, and jake.

Even though it's been around 2 weeks, they haven't been to my house yet. I haven't been to Jakes but colby has. I'm a little nervous to bring them to my house. My mom wouldn't care who I bring over but my dad will keep his eye on me and my friends. And I'm scared that my mom and him will start fighting while colby and jake are there. Or maybe my dad will do something to me just for me to get embarrassed.

"Hey guys, since its Friday do yall wanna come over to my house for the weekend!?" Colby asked towards me and jake.

"Yea bro, sure." I answered him. But jake looked at his feet for a split second at right back up. "Oh sorry dude, I can't. My mom doesn't want me going to your house, Colby. She says your a 'bad influence'." He put his fingers up, moving them up and down while saying "bad influence" To mock her.

"How about we all go to Sam's house instead and tell Jakes mom I won't be there?" Colby insisted. I got a nervous feeling rush over me, hoping that jake would decline, cause I know I wasn't gonna speak up.

"Yea Sam, are you good with that?"

My heart dropped. I was so scared of what they would think. They were my only friends and if something happened while they were there, they might ditch me. But I couldn't say no.

"Yea, go get some stuff and I'll come by each of your houses and get you" I don't know why I couldn't just say no. I didn't want them to think something was up.

Sam's p.o.v

It was finally time for the moment I've been dreading.

'Okay Sam, just go get them and bring them to your house. It's not that hard."

I was torturing myself to just walk out the door. I don't know why this was a big deal. I never had a friend come to my house, let alone 2.

I walked out, feeling the cool breeze pinch my cheeks, making them turn light pink. I walked to Colby's house, I already knew where he lived because I had already been to his house. He was gonna help me get to jakes house.

Colby stood at the next house's driveway beside Jake's house house so his mom won't see him. Jake walked out and I lead them to my house.

As usual, my father was sitting in the chair on the porch, smoking. I looked at him as I walked up the steps, my friends following, and I gave him a half smile. He glared at me as I walked in the house while holding the door open.

"Oh, hey Sam!!" My mom said before she saw me with Jake and Colby. "And Sam's friends-?" She continued.

"Hey, uh, is it fine if they spend the night here?"

"Yea, that's fine. I'll cook dinner tonight if you want?." She answered.
I nodded my head and lead Colby and Jake to my messy room. It wasn't destroyed, but there was a few things on the floor. Before they got a chance to look around, I picked up a few things off my floor and shoved them in my closet so my room would look better.

I had some posters up, not too many, and my bed had black and white bedding. I had one stuffed animal, which was an elephant laying on my neatly made bed.

"Where should we put our stuff?" Jake asked while him and Colby were staring at me.

"Right over there is fine" I said pointing beside my closet door. They dropped their stuff where I said too and sat down on my bed while looking around casually. I sat beside them and asked "so... What do you wanna do"

"Could I take a shower really quick? Then we could watch a movie if that's fine" Jake answered, shrugging his shoulders at the last part. I nodded my head and pointed down the hallway to the bathroom.

He grabbed his stuff and left the room, leaving me and Colby alone.

My heart started beating really fast.

It felt like it was gonna fly out of my chest.

I could feel my face burning, meaning I was blushing really bad.

I used my hoodie sleave to hide my face so Colby wouldn't see as he got up to pick out a movie for when Jake came back.

"Is this movie fine?"

"Yea, that's fine" I said as he held up 'pet semetary'. He noticed something was off, so he sat beside me on my bed and looked at me with an innocent look on face.
