After lunch, the day went by fast. I was on my way to the front of the gates when I was stopped by someone who ran in front of me. Looking up I see Tanaka smiling down at me.
"Where you going? The gym is that way" he pointed to the other side of the school. He had a smile on his face and was going to guide me when I spoke up.
"I'm actually going home Tanaka. I didn't want to intrude so I'll be going" I said past Tanaka. "I should get going" I walked past him hoping he let me go.
"You know, the guys really want to get to know you. It would be nice to find out more about you. You won't intrude on practice. But I can't say anything because I'm not you. Walk home safe, Ayako" Tanaka said walking towards the gym.
Do they really want to know me? Should I go home or stay and hang out with the team? I don't know...
Standing in front of the gym I started at the door. Wondering if I should walk in or just wait till practice is over. It was getting late and the cold was settling in.
I knocked on the entrance of the gym hearing the boys stop tossing the balls. About to knock again the door wide to reveal an out of breath Daichi.
"You made it!" He said opening the door wider. "Who is it?" One of the boys asked walking towards Daichi and me. "Ayako!" Hinata said running up to me giving me a seat hug.
"H-hinata" I said standing in his arms. "We thought you weren't coming!" He said letting go, stepping back.
Looking up I see the rest of the boys standing starting at what they just witnessed. Kiyoko smiled walking up towards me grabbing my hand.
"Come on guys, leave her room to breath" she said guiding me inside handing me her jacket. I guess I looked cold. It was freezing out there for the time I outside.
"Glad you made it" Sugawara whispered smiling. I nodded returning the smile walking to the beach.
Sitting down I didn't notice how much I was shaking till I looked at how my legs that were completely white and shaking viciously.
"Here." A voice said for behind me. Turning around I see Kageyama holding up a thin fluffy blanket. "I found it in the supply closet" he said not once looking at me.
I smiled and took it, wrapping myself in it. "Thank you" I said looking up once again catching a glimpse of his little smile before he turned away. He nodded and went off to the boys that were either looking at us or talking amongst themselves.
Snuggling into the blanket, Kiyoko sat next to me, handing me a water bottle. "How long were outside for? You freezing" she said with a hint of worried.
I shrugged and looked down. "I don't know...a while I guess. I was debating if I should come inside or should I just go home but the wind started to pick up and so I just came in." I said turning my head towards a worried but mad older sister.
She was debating in her head and flashes of different emotions went across her face. Questioning what role she should play in this situation, which are: the angry/pissed off sister, the worried one, the sad sis, or just the plain off I'ma slap you now sis.
I guess we went off the worried sister, because she brought me into a hug holding me tight. "I'm glad your okay. Why did you want to go home?" She said slowly pulling away.
I thought about for a bit. "I guess it's because I thought they wouldn't really want to hang out with me. I just thought that they wanted me around because they wanted to be nice, but really just wanted me around for you" I said shrugging going deeper into the blanket.
She was confused. The look on her face gave her away. "Me? What do you mean?" She asked looking at me to find any type of answers.
"Yea, it's clear that they are your friends and bringing me here feels like your making them be my friends. I don't know maybe it's just in my head." I said finally looking at her. I noticed the boys weren't playing anymore, or even in the gym. When did they leave?
"They aren't being nice to you because I asked them. All they talked about last night was how you should have went to dinner with them. They aren't being nice because you are my sister either. I know that's why you were trying to say" she said.
"It's true" a voice said next to me. It was Tanaka and Nishinoya. "We wanted to hang out with you because you looked like a cool girl too hang out with." Nishinoya said weekend a serious face. "We didn't know that's how you felt. We are sorry but we really want to get to know you, from what your sisters says you seem like a awesome girl too hang out with." Tanaka added with a smile.
Right when I was going to say something, Daichi and Sugawara came in with the rest of the team following them. "Tanaka! Nishinoya! You should be getting dressed not messing with the girls!" Sugawara said walking towards them grabbing both their arms before smiling over to Kiyoko and me.
Sugawara dragged them away ignoring their protest and explanation. Daichi walked over to us and smiled leading me a hand to stand up.
"You guys ready to go eat?" He asked smiling. I n need and returned the smile. The other boys were arguing with Asahi trying to calm them down. " First years. I'll be right back" he walked off stopping them from a arguing. He's mean when he is mad. Even I got scared and I wasn't even doing anything.
"So are you ready to go eat?" Kiyoko said standing next to me. I looked over to the boys who were scared of Daichi and the boys who just walked into the gym laughing at something said. Looking back at my sister I smiled and nodded.
"I think so"
