Rebekah's POV:

The next day when I woke up I had this shrieking pain in my head. I looked at the clock on the table and it was 3:30 in the afternoon.

I looked around the room but it had no sight of Rex. I looked at myself in the mirror and I was changed into a navy blue sweatshirt and white sweatpants.

Our bags were neatly packed and kept in the corner of the room. It was then that I realized that we have to leave for Seattle today.

I hurriedly made my way downstairs and nearly tripped on my last step. Rex was sitting with grandma on the dining table sipping his black coffee and as soon as he saw me he got up from his seat and made his way towards the kitchen.

I suddenly felt a pang of guilt making it's way to my heart as I remembered my promise to my grandma of having ice-cream with her after returning from the pub. Suddenly the events of last night came to my remembrance but just in bits and pieces.

I remembered that I was already two beers down and then I took three vodka shots as well. "Shit", I hissed when I remembered dancing with someone who was surely not Rex.

I made my way towards grandma and she looked at me with a faint smile on her face. "You don't look so well. Had a lot to drink I guess", she said while she had a hint of mockery in her eyes.

"Yes. My head is throbbing", I said while I sat on one of the chairs and started massaging my temples. Just then Rex entered the dining room with a cup of coffee whose aroma made its way through my nostrils waking me up completely.

"Here", he said while placing the cup in front of me. I looked at him and passed him a small smile but he just looked at me dead in the eyes and went into the room.

I followed behind him clearly not liking the coldness between us. I stood in the doorway resting my body against the frame while he sat on the bed checking his phone.

"I am sorry", I said while taking slow steps towards him. "You should be saying that to her, don't you think?", he said while passing me a glare.

When I was standing right in front of him he continued, "She was literally waiting for us till midnight. When I returned home with a drunk you lunging on me, she knew that you were not in a state to have ice-cream with her and so to save you from the embarassement today, she just lied to me saying that she wasn't feeling sleepy and that's the reason she just thought of sitting in the living room watching television even when the TV set was off. But I insisted that I wanted to have ice-cream as I was hungry and on saying that I swear I saw her eyes with a glint of happiness in them. So once I was done tucking you in bed, I went downstairs and while having ice-cream we even watched a movie before she went to bed." I literally felt a tear drop from my eyes and the next moment he took me in his arms and rubbed my back to stop me from crying.

"Ssshhh! You should be a little responsible Rebekah is what I am saying. You don't meet her that often and she is already sad that we are leaving today", he said while looking at me and drawing circles on my arms. I wiped my nose with my sleeve and looked at him.

"Get ready if you want to. We are leaving in 5", he said before kissing me on my forehead and making his way out of the room. I changed into a pair of light blue jeans and after putting my hair into a messy bun I made my way downstairs before looking at my room one last time.

Rex was out in the driveway putting our luggage in the car trunk. I hugged my grandma and while placing my palm on her cheek I said, "It was so nice to be here with you just like old times. Take care of yourself and I will call you everyday, I promise. I'll miss you grandma. And I am so sorry for yesterday. I was being a complete bitch by drinking beyond my capacity forgetting about my promise that I made to you."
