Rebekah's POV:
1 year later
Finally senior year was about to end. The only events that were left were prom and our last semester.
I was shifting to London after high school graduation for my law studies. My dad had already talked to one of his business partners for my internship in the famous JP & Sons.
I was just left with a name sake interview and with the amount of hard work I have been doing to make my portfolio impressive, I am sure I won't face much trouble to be an intern there. On the other hand, Rex has decided to move to Boston for his higher studies.
And no doubt that Boston is the closest city to London, but we will still be apart from each other for 3 years to be precise. And during the past one year I have grown quite habituated of him.
I don't know how I am going to survive those three years of college without him by my side. There were some good colleges in London fulfilling his interest but he turned the options down because according to him 'we should stay away to learn more about oneself and what we truly want out of life' and I agreed with him because for a fact I knew that handling a relationship during college is a big challenge and it becomes truly difficult to devote your time to your boyfriend when you are trying to adjust yourself in a new place with new people and a whole new culture.
I was looking at some papers that held my ideas relating to the food drive for community food pantry which was to be held right after prom. Being the student council president, I was in charge to make a note of the budget allocation, fiscal planning and also to ensure communication between the staff and the student body.
I had to present these to the principal within an hour and I was still searching for some bills that I had no sight of but were entered in my tally sheet. I was tugging my hair in my hands when suddenly the door struck open and it revealed April.
"Hey, what are you doing alone in history classroom?", she asked while coming towards me. I took the binder in my hand and waved it towards her and she just nodded her head in response.
She then gave me a paper that was folded neatly. I raised an eyebrow but she just kept her mouth shut.
I unfolded the paper, almost uninterested in what was written inside and read aloud its contents.
A pile of words
Jackets of hordes
Take a quick look
In the place of the book."What sort of a game are you playing? I have to submit the report to the principal in an hour. We can do this later", I said her sounding irritated. She just stood there and didn't budge from her place for another 10 minutes.
After knowing her for a year, one thing I came to understand is that April can be pretty stubborn at times and maybe that's the reason why she is Rex's best friend as they both are the same in terms of this. I huffed before getting up from my seat while closing my binders and holding them closer to my chest.
"We will get done with whatever it is quickly, so that I can get back to my work. Okay?", I said while eyeing her. She passed me a big smile before saying, "So have you cracked it yet?"
I looked at the riddle on the paper again and said, "It's the library." We then went towards the library which was on the ground floor.
By the time I reached the library, I was breathing heavily. The librarian looked at me and passed me a sympathetic look.
She then pointed towards a boy whose face was hidden behind a book. I made my way hurriedly towards the boy and when I tapped him on his shoulder he kept the book in his lap and it was a familiar face.
