Quick show of hands: who here has ever had a case of writers' block? (Everyone's hand should be up.)
Writers' block happens when you suddenly find yourself lacking inspiration. We've all had it, and it's truly a monster. So how can we fight it?
The easiest way to conquer writers' block for me is to write something for fun. I take a break from the story I'm working on, and write something completely new. This exposes my mind to new ideas and concepts.
Another way to conquer writers' block is to rewrite a scene in a story from a different perspective. For example, The Silver Helix primarily follows Olive. If I'm feeling writers' block, I'll write a scene from Ginger's perspective. This helps get my creative juices flowing.
But honestly? There's nothing wrong with signing out of Wattpad for a moment, closing your computer, and taking a walk around the block. It's not weak to admit that you need a break. I find that my writers' block usually hits me after I've been working for a couple of hours. I'm out of ideas.
Remember: writing should be fun! Don't force yourself to write or update. It isn't fair to yourself.
