The Inn

Skylar's POV

We got back to the townhouse inn. Everyone started packing up.

"Let's get our shit and get the fuck out of here" Richie said. 

"Did you leave your stuff here?" Eddie asked Ben. 

"No my stuff is still in the car" Ben said. 

Beverly and Ben went over to the bar, Eddie and Richie went upstairs. I followed them up. I went to Eddie's room and stood in the doorway of his room. 

"So that's it huh?" I said. 

"What?" he said. 

"You're just gonna leave?" I said. "You gonna go back to your wife?"

"Come with me" he said, walking over to me. 

"I can't" I said. "Eddie we made a promise. Don't you remember what that thing did to us? Don't you realize that a bunch of kids are gonna die?" 

"Sky please" Eddie said.

"Eddie" I said. "I'm not leaving but I live in New York so we can meet up sometime. I wish you would stay though. I know you're braver than you think, you just have to be willing to show it."

We heard Richie's voice call from downstairs. 

"Skylar, Edwardo" he called. "Hurry up! Ondele, we gotta go! Skylar I got your shit for you!"

"I'm not letting you stay here" Eddie said. "You could get killed."

"There is nothing you can do to stop me" I said. I was mistaken. 

He walked over and picked me up, putting me over his shoulder. 

"Eddie!" I yelled. "What the fuck are you doing?!"

"You're coming with me whether you like it or not" he said. 

"Put me down Kaspbrak!" I said. 

"No way Tozier" he said, picking up his bags. "You're ass looks great by the way."

"Eddie!" I said, blushing. 

We came down the stairs and Richie, Ben, and Beverly were all standing around silently. 

"I just gotta get my toiletry bag and I'm good to go" Eddie said. "What'd we miss?"

"Why is Skylar over your shoulder?" Ben said.

"Because she doesn't want to leave and I don't want her to get killed" Eddie said. 

"I'm being kidnapped" I said. 

"What'd we miss?" Eddie asked again.

We all sat around the bar listening to Bev talked about how she saw us all die. I sat on Eddie's lap while she talked. I mean, he didn't really give me a choice. 

"What do you mean you've seen us all die?" Eddie asked. 

"Yeah" Richie said. "I got to be honest, that's a fucked up thing to just drop on somebody."

"Every night since Derry, I've been having these dreams" Beverly said crying. "People dying, people in pain, people..."

"So you have nightmares" Eddie said. "I have nightmares, people have nightmares but that doesn't mean your visions are true."

"I watched everyone single one of use, we..." Beverly said. 

"You've seen every one of us what?" Bill asked as he and Mike came in. Bill sat next to Beverly. 

"Go to the place to Stanley wound up" she said. "That's how we end."

"Okay" Richie said. "How come none of the rest of us are seeing that shit? What makes her so different?"

"The Deadlights" Mike said. 

"The Deadlights" Bill said. "She was the only one of us that got c-c-caught in the Deadlights that day."

"No she wasn't" I said. They all looked at me. 

"What?" Richie asked. 

"When Pennywise took Beverly and I, he trapped me in the Deadlights too" I said. 

"So you've seen us all die too?" Ben asked. 

"No" I said. "Just Stan. I tried to stay close to him as an adult hoping it wouldn't happen."

"Wait" Bill said. "What did you see in the D-Deadlights?"

"You'll think I'm crazy" I said in a laugh as a tear rolled down my face. 

"You wanna bet?" Richie said. "We've almost been killed 3 times now by a psychotic shape shifting clown. I'm sure whatever you say can't top that."

I stood up and moved towards the middle of the circle. 

"There is another entity that fought Pennywise" I said. "It's name is Maturin. It takes the form of a turtle. In my vision I saw me as a baby in a crib. The Deadlights came in through the window and tried to attack me but Maturin saved me somehow and transferred part of himself to me. I wasn't supposed to be born. Even my mom and dad said that I was a complete accident. It was only supposed to be Richie. Maturin said he made me to help all of you stop IT. I'm connected to all of you. I feel your pain. When Stanley killed himself, these showed up." I held out my arms and showed them my scars. "When Henry carved an H into your stomach Ben and when Pennywise slashed you at Niebolt, I got those too." I lifted up my shirt to reveal a H scar. "When Pennywise killed Georgie" I said and pulled down my sleeve to reveal a scar on my arm where Goergie lost his. "And when Stan got attacked by it the first time and had bite marks on his head" I said, showing my profile to the so they could see I had the same scars he did. 

"Well I stand corrected" Richie said. "This shit is definitely crazier than Pennywise."

"Asshole!" I said crying. "This is why I didn't want to fucking tell you."

"Hey" Eddie said hugging me. "It's okay."

"We were all touched by IT" Mike said. "Changed by IT. Deep down like an infection, like a virus. You understand. Growing, spreading deeper and deeper. That virus has been growing for 27 years, this whole time, metastasizing. IT just got to Stan first because..."

"He's the weakest" Richie said. 

"Jesus Christ Rich" Bill said. 

"I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking" Richie said. 

"Come on Richie" Bill said.

"Look, what Beverly sees. It will come to pass" Mike said. "It's what will happen to all of us eventually unless we stop IT."

"How are we supposed to do that?" Eddie asked. 

"The Ritual of Chud" Mike said. "The Chacopewah. The first ones that fought it, they have a saying, 'All living things must abide by the shape they inhabit'."

"A tribal ritual?" Richie shouted. "Are you fucking kidding me man? There's gotta be another way. This thing comes back every what, 27 years? Let's just kick the can down the road and do it then."

"Wait" Eddie said. "We'll be 70 years old asshole."

"It doesn't work that way" Beverly said. "None of us make it another 20 years, and the way it happens..." 

"So if we don't beat this psycho then...." Ben said.

"We die" Bill finished. 

"Horribly" Eddie said. 

"We didn't need the horribly part" Richie said. 

"I didn't say it, she did" Eddie said. "Not me. Her."

"Look guys I've seen w-w-what he's talking about and i-i-t's all true" Bill said. "It's the only way. If we want this ritual to work..."

"We have to remember" Mike said. 

"Remember what?" Richie asked. 

"It's better if I just show you" Mike said. "We don't have much time. The cycle will end soon. Then once it does-"

"We're fucked" I finished.
