My experiences with schools

Year seven part 2

This isn't much to do with me but it is still and example of how shit my school was.

So there was this girl, I'll call her sapphire because I fucking can. I've been naming my current friends by name but me and her aren't friends anymore really. We were always together, after school we were on the phone, most of the time even FaceTiming.

She walked through a graveyard from the bus stop to her house as it was a lot quicker and less walking, some girls saw this and started a rumour she was meeting men in park to do unthinkable things. The thing was, I know she wasn't so I was constantly stood up for her, that just made it worse.

I was sat with her at the lunch time they shouted it. Two girls walked in shouting 'Sapphire we saw you with that man in the graveyard' and she responded 'what man? I don't see men?' And then another girl who'd been informed said 'it sounds like something you'd do sapphire' I said back 'ok and how do you know it wasn't a family member? Her dad? A grandad" and they said "we know what her family looks like" and then I said "ok which part of the graveyard is it?" They ignored me. I then said "how'd you see from the bus?" Still ignored. "That's how know it's not real. That and the fact I was on the fucking phone to her"

So my friend had to stop getting that bus because the whole bus made fun on her, she had people following her and the school tried to get the police involved despite Sapphire listing everyone she speaks to out of school, still saying it wasn't true and me being a witness.

Then she had to stop getting the other bus to her house because all of them were now informed and she was still being followed and shouted at. I'd like to inform you that she is Asian which may not seem like much of a fact but in Japan there's this thing, Enjo-kōsai which is when a woman, mostly a school girl does sexual favours for an old man in exchange for money. This is what they were accusing my friend of.

She started walking home and I walked with her most of the way until I had to go to my home and we stayed on the phone, she didn't even go past the graveyard much and she was still followed but it soon ended.

Now the school, when they realised this horrible rumour was being spread were like 'we will isolate the girls away from classes and give them detentions' nothing happened. They weren't even spoken to.

The rumours then evolved. I was doing it with sapphire but was more discrete, I was making sapphire do it, whatever they could say. Once I was brought into it, my mum and grandma lost it. They were in the school like 'you need to sort your students out' and the school were like 'we will suspend them for a couple days while we figure it out and then they'll be isolated if it's proven false' still nothing.

This rumour continued to be spread for ages and I'm pretty sure people still say about it. Sapphire recently started getting a bus again with her friends and has slowly recovered from the affect of the rumour.
