Chapter 10

Rishab was angry at being questioned on his decision. But he soon realised that they are right. He had never been so absent minded during work. He had always took time in testing people before hiring. He had said sorry to Sanjana who is more a friend than an employee. He had gone out and his eyes had gone straight to Khushi. He had took his eyes off from her and had said,"Can I have your attention please? Everyone please can you all come over here for a moment?" After everybody had come, he continued,"As you all have known by now, we are celebrating 55th anniversary of S &K Publication this Sunday. You all have been sent the invitation over the mail. But as I consider everyone working here as family, I feel all should be personally informed regarding the same. So I hope to see you all along with your family on Sunday." Rishab after announcing this had taken their leave avoiding looking at Khushi. He had then got into discussion with Sanjana related to the function.

Khushi after hearing this announcement, opens the mail to see the invite. There is a party for celebrating the 55th year of S &K Publication at Khurana Mansion in the evening of Sunday. She starts asking everything about this. She comes to know that every year a party is held at the house of the Khurana's to celebrate the anniversary of the company. Many well known people, media and celebrities attend the party. Khurana Mansion is huge with a huge backyard where this celebrations takes place every year. She hears girls deciding what to wear. She does not have fancy clothes for such big party. After the brief moments of excitement to attend the party, Khushi starts getting upset on how to dress up for the day.

Khushi before leaving finds Rishab busy with Sanjana and two other department heads in his room. She leaves for her home, thinking about Sunday. After reaching the apartment, she calls her gang of friends. She tells them about the party and her worry about what to wear. Her friends are excited about the party, they make guesses on who will be attending the celebration. They suggest her to wear one of her good dresses.

After hanging up the phone, she goes to the living area to find her roommate Tina watching television. She sits on the sofa giving out a deep breath. Tina finding this odd asks, "What's the matter with you?" Khushi tells her everything. Tina says,"Bas itni si baat hai..You can go shopping with me. I can help you find the right dress. You cannot wear your work dresses or your Indian dresses there." Khushi making sad face says,"I haven't received the stipend yet and I can't waste baba's money on buying dresses. I have other expenses you know. It's better I don't go. No one will notice me if I don't go." Tina says,"Okay..That's not a problem. You can wear one of my dresses. You shouldn't miss this party. I would love to go if someone asks me." Khushi becomes happy again, she says,"Arey you can come with me.The invitation is for family too. I don't have family here so I can take a friend with me. I was not sure whether I would go so I had not asked you." The girls cheer in excitement and they run into the Tina's room.

Tina opens her wardrobe and pulls out some glamorous dresses. She hand overs a black short dress with thin straps to Khushi for her to try. Khushi puts it over her body in front of the mirror and says,"O teri..Tu pagal ho gayi hai kya??I can't wear such short dress. Long dress please." Tina makes a face,"What?? No you will look chic in that dress. Try na." Khushi tries the dress and Tina clicks her picture. Khushi finds a nice red colour knee length dress with cold shoulder and a belt. She tries the dress on and falls in love with it. She is happy that she can finely go to the party. May be she will see Ranvir there. She knows there is zero chance for this but still she is hopeful.

Rishab visits his grandmother a day before the party. He hugs her and she talks about everything going on in the house. He tells her about the preparation for the party. He tells her that people will come from the morning to put up stage, set up music systems etc. and food and drinks will arrive by afternoon. He says,"I know its too much for you. You do get annoyed by sounds and people but this has become a tradition. I wanted to shift the location for the party but dad will not like..." Rishab's dad Akhilesh comes from behind and interrupts him by saying,"Why are you so interested in changing things? You have changed enough at the office and now you want to change this tradition too that your grandfather had started years ago. Till the time I am alive, I won't let you do that." Grandmother stopping his son says,"Akilesh, stop. Why do you always scold Rishu? He is just worried for me. You know the noises and too many people disturb me. I know your father started this tradition of celebrating the anniversary here. He loved to throw parties and he never needed any occasion for that. But I am getting old and I don't like all the noises and people around during the such parties." Akhilesh does not reply and goes back into his room. Rishab says,"I am sorry for this mess. I didn't want to hurt him." Grandmother replies,"You shouldn't be sorry as you have not done anything wrong. He has his issues. Forget about it. And dont worry about me. I 'll be back into my room after the main event gets over." Rishab says,"Okay. I wanted to talk to him about the function but I guess he won't talk to me now. I'll send Sanjana later today to talk to him." He leaves after that.

On the evening of the party everything is set. There is a stage on one side, varieties of food items are being arranged on one side, waiters are ready with drinks and appetizers. Some of the staff are moving around checking everything for the last minute. Rishab comes out of the house, dressed in black blazers and white shirt. He is looking even more dashing than usual. Guests start coming in and Rishab welcomes them. He is accompanied by Sanjana. Many of his staff members are present there while others are arriving with their family. Sachin and Arti arrives too. They are talking among themselves when Rishab's eyes catches something or rather some one. A beautiful girl enters in a red dress. Rishab can't believe what his eyes are seeing.
